Well, first things first you can't get stage 2 OC on your CPU without water cooling (it says it right in the line :) ). And really, with 10k budget why would you NOT get it? I don't want to overstep my bounds and make recommendations for you. Others will make solid builds for you, but you probably won't have to spend $10k and you will still get the best you can get. It will be a beast either way :)

You do realize that is simply a USB stick that you would plug into a USB port, it's not an actual card.  There is another option for a card that you could have installed.

if u have such a high budget why not just add anohter GTX 295
take away the Enhancements, i dont think ESA works for i7
add water cooling loop for the CPU
you dont need two SSDs for your storage
just keep the first one and downgrade to a raptor for the other files

now take the rest of the money left over from $10,000 and get yourself a PCI SSD that will put all other SSDs raid to shame something like fusion io or PhotoFast which has 1000MB/s read and write.

With the left over money I sure would like an extra GTX 295, that will only cost you $550.00 more.  All kidding aside what DST setup for you is great.  I also play COD WaW with one 295 and my clan thinks I have a hack.  They just can't keep pace with me and mine was only $2800 recommended by DST as well.

Good Luck and welcome to DS forums.

if i had 10k, i would get a 3x classified mobo, 12gig of high quality ram, 3x 5870's, stage 7 LC the i7965 with stage 2 oc to push that sucker past 4.0 ghz. A 256 SSD from intel for 1st slot, then multiple 1terrabyte HDD's for storage. a 4 year warranty to boot as well. I would ship it in a wooden crate and have them make a plush doll out of your tower as well(kidding bout last part) Then with the last 2 thousand, get 3 monitors and enjoy some quality gaming and never leave the room for the next 4 years hahaa :)

what issue not that it is any of my business.... or any of ours.

thats the pcie ssd dst reccomended
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/PhotoFast-SSD-PCI-e,7719.html

thats the pcie ssd zoom pic
http://www.tomshardware.com/gallery/pr_gmonsterpromisepciessd2,0101-210016-0----jpg-.html

to me it looks exactly like a gtx 295 lol. looks to be the same dimensions as well but this has soemthing the others do not... it is a hybrid you have dd2 ram and ssd combined with pcie tech that's what makes this thing so friggin fast

did they come up with the patch yet so that is can be your os drive? if the patch has not come out well then you will still need a os set

just remember fermi comes out in a few months so you can choose a few options on vid cards

1 cheap out and upgrade as soon as fermi hits the shelves

2 get mid line now and upgrade when fermi hits the shelves

3 get your top line and upgrade when needed

if you are doing 3d video editing the the nvidia cards are for you.

no offense, but isn't a $10000 limit way too much, unless if you need such a system for work? why not buy a DS pc that isn't in the 5 digit category, and with the remaining, pay off any loans, make a donation to the less fortunate, etc.

It all depends on the individuals funds. Buy what you can afford, if 10K for a PC is nothing for a person then why not.

do you know what? i just noticed look at the date of the original post... lol this very old how come it didn't show up till today lol.

if you save $40 a week for three years you can get the best of the best every 3 years. or better yet $20 and you can still get a absolutely great pc. so if you save over time instead of just buying what you an afford atm you can always get something better then what you can normally afford.

so just remember a person with a large budget either is rich or they were frugal and saved.

like me i am frugal...

i have been saving for a very long time (2 years) and i will be able to get what ever i want b/c i saved the money specifically for a top line computer.(THIS IS NOT MY THREAD) byt the time i am done saving it will be close to 3 years and everything i want will will be out

gulftown, fermi (hopefully it is a good as it sounds), and sp1 for win 7.

i am primarily waiting on sp 1 on win7 since i never like to get a os with out 1 since i don't like bugs. so to me it is worth the wait and i can get something better then i can now just b/c someone doesn't want to wait.

but i do have to say by the time gulfotwn debutes if win7 sp1 isn't out i will go crazy and order anyway lol. i have been waiting long enough and i am nearing wits end

you could just upgrade or if you want do the math. $20 x 52 (wks) x 3 (yrs)= enough to but a new computer.

i have been saving for over 2 years and nearing 3 and when it is time to order i will have the money for what ever i may want at no real stress to me b/c i have saved for so long. this allowed me to put smaller monthly saving payments and allow me to relax a little.

if i remember you just recently bought one... if i am correct. start putting anwhere from $20-$30 bucks away every week and things that were out of your reach now are in it. this works for anything but it takes time.

like i will be spending anywhere from $6000 - $8000 depending on if i want certain things ds doesn't offer. like mushkin redline 1600mhz ram or 500GB - OCZSSD2-1CLS500G. if i decide to get the stuff ds does not offer i expect it to be around $8000. what makes the dramatic price difference is the 500gb ssd ($1700). to me a 256 is still to small for my os i intend to use this computer for around 5 years with minimal to no upgrades and i do buy a lot of games when i have money to waste.

if your curious about the ssd here is the link:
