I have been checking out DSO for at least a month or two and have been playing around with configurations for a gaming PC, with my mind set on Battlefield 3. Of course I will be playing already released games and the soon upcoming Duke Nukem Forever =).

Budget is set at $1,500. I was seriously thinking of getting the ODE Level 1 system, until I just realized the video card is a GTX 560, not a GTX 560 Ti. Being as hard headed as I am, I do want the GTX 560 Ti lol.

I do have a monitor, it's a Samsung Syncmaster 2233. The highest resolution for it seems to be 1920x1080.

So here's my configuration. Any input is welcome. Let me know if the CPU cooling and power supply is sufficient enough, or if I should drop it down to the cheaper choices. I don't plan to SLI in the future.

Also, should I do a Video Boost and/or OS Boost? I don't see much configurations utilizing any of those two. Pros/Cons of selecting them?

Thank you in advance everybody out there =]

I think the build looks very good. That 560 Ti averages about 47 FPS on BFBC2. So you should be set.. now i dont know how good it will perform on BF3. Save up for an SSD and then put your OS/games/apps on it.. and you'll have a pretty solid performing desktop.

Thanks! I'll think of SSD in the future.
Gamefront posted system requirements for Battlefield 3, but their source is iffy. http://www.gamefront.com/battlefield-3-system-requirements/
I'll just wait until Wednesday and hopefully they reveal the requirements live in this stream http://live-event.ea.com/e3/chat/battlefield

I'd like to correct myself, the 560 Ti averages 47 fps with full details with 4xAA. So if you were turn off AA, you'd probably average 60+ easily.

Don't just consider today's performance, concider the performance 2 years from now, go with 2600K and if you can go with stage one oc do so.

gpu boost here is low and you won't notice it.

os boost makes no difference.

Ask DS specifically for this fan to be added to the side, so you endup with 3 x 200mm fans:

haf 200mm non led fan

for your res and other games at your res, 570 is choice.

Thanks Smile

Let's say I can go for the GTX 570 but not the 2600k, would that be ok?

No, the cpu is the brain of your pc, you can upgrade gpu easily down the road, cpu may not be that easy for you, nor would you want to go from a 2500k to a 2600k in 2 years.

go with 2600k, upgrade gpu in 2 years or so.
