Hi there,

I'm coming back to having a proper PC after some years. I've put together builds in the past, but I'm a little bit timid with this new system so hopefully my questions are fairly easy to answer :)

I recently bought the Aventum 3 system for use primarily for Otoy's Octane renderer and so far so good. I'm running 2 GTX 1080's and looking to upgrade to a 3rd, a 1080 Titan x to boost ram and give me some more juice.

Currently I have an SLI bridge, but seeing how Octane does not use SLI, I was going to disable it and possibly remove it once the 3rd card goes in.

Having no experience with SLI before, once its disabled in the settings, is it ok to remove the hardware? Do I need to do anything else on the cards themselves before booting back up?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Just turn off the PC, remove the SLI bridge, and you're all set. Octane does not use SLI technology so it won't tell the difference. Also, you do not need to do anything else in terms of settings either.
