Just for another suggestion, I took Arkansas's excellent build and tweaked it to give you the WiFi motherboard and a single video card to eliminate any potential sli game issues. The Titan X in some bench tests has shown it to be as good if not slightly better than sli 980 with 4k gaming. A single gtx 980 is all you need for 1920x1080.
Config # 1167524. Cost $ 3338 4k gaming is very demanding and either build will game very good, but you won't max out some games. Hope this helps. Edit.... below 4k, the sli 980 will beat the Titan X for the most part. At 4k, the Titan X wins in some but drops below the sli 980 with others. Edited by bprat22 - 23 Mar 2015 at 3:32am |

I like the Titan X build.. I need to make sure this build has a Display port connection so I can fully utilize my 1920X1080 p 144 hertz monitor with 1 Milo second response time.. The wireless internet is a must for me..

The Titan X, like most high end cards, does have displayport, in fact three of them I believe.

My purpose for the build is to have a great experience playing GTA5 & The Witcher 3.. Is Witcher 3 a benchmark game now ?

I don't know too much about those games, so I'd Google Witcher 3 Benchmark and get the results.

Depends. Testing I've seen show sli 980 faster at 1080p and 1440p resolution, but very close with 4k. Overall, the sli 980 appears to win, but then you have the potential sli issues with some games.

I was just at the GeForce site and they state that minimum required system memory is 24Gb with 48Gb recommended. Am I reading something wrong.
From GeForce Site for Titan X: "MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: PCI-Express-compliant motherboard with one dual-widthx16 graphics slot One 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector Minimum 600 W or greater power supply 300 MB of available hard-drive space 24 GB system memory (48 GB or higher recommended) Microsoft Windows 8 and 8.1, Windows 7 or Windows Vista" Frank Edited by FrankW - 23 Mar 2015 at 5:39am |

Which game? Witcher 3 and GTA 5 show 6-8gb ram.
I didn't see the Titan X line. Edited by bprat22 - 23 Mar 2015 at 5:57am |

Hi bprat22,
There are conflicting reports on the GeForce forms about the required system memory to run the Titan X. The box says 2/4gb but some post state that Nividia techs has stated that the 24/48Gb is correct. People on the forum that already have a Titan X say that they are doing fine with 16Gb. I tend to think that the 24/48Gb is incorrect. The problem is the posters who say they are using 16Gb of system memory don't say what resolution they are playing at. It could be that 4K may need more memory?? In any case GeForce and Nvidia must know about this problem but GeForce has not corrected its site from 24/48Gb to 2/4Gb. I just down loaded the Manual for the Titan X from GeForce and it states that 2/4Gb is required. So I am pretty sure that the 24/48Gb is incorrect. Frank |

The builds that Arkansas and myself showed you with the different video card setups will all work great for your 1080p and will still allow 4k gaming at lower settings than the 1080p, obviously. Can't go wrong with any of them. It is a tough decision picking the right one for you. |

If you are looking to play the games MAXED out at 4K, you're going to need 2x Titan X as im sure GTA 5 is going to be a VRAM hog if optimized proplerly.

TitanX for the most demanding gamer.
MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: PCI-Express-compliant motherboard with one dual-widthx16 graphics slot One 6-pin and one 8-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector Minimum 600 W or greater power supply 300 MB of available hard-drive space 24 GB system memory (48 GB or higher recommended) Microsoft Windows 8 and 8.1, Windows 7 or Windows Vista Or Titan X for the gamer with a super computer! ok sarcasm off. This was a misprint and the hype got started from a sales rep (from a contractor, not Nvidia) stating the obvious misprint as absolute truth and the forum trolls taking off with it. The writer obviously read 2/4 as 24 then doubled that to 48. Some people got through college on cliff notes and hangovers. Probably the same team that figured the 3.5G ram with .5G with half the chip architecture = 4G fully utilized ram on the 970 cards. Sorry the sarcasm switch on my keyboard must be broken. |

Best bang for your buck is to not use liquid cooled for your GPUs. CPU liquid cooling is cheap, relatively due to the products on the market, like the Corsair coolers.
Two GTX 980s should run reasonably cool during gaming, mine do even if I overclock them. Not sure they can do 4k on max settings on all games though. But they are the best bang for the buck at this moment in time. A single TitanX won't be better than two 980s ( nor was that expected, as a Titan X is like 150% of a 980) |

EVGA just launched their 980 Hybrid cards with an AIO cooler for the GPU chip and standard blower for the memory and power circuitry. That solution is much cheaper and easier than a custom water loop.
