I'm completely baffled by which cooler to choose. The H100i GTX or the H110i GT. I do understand that the H100i GTX uses 120mm fans rather than the 140mm found on the H110i GT. Can anyone please tell me which cooler is the better one? The H115i is out of the picture, it'll exceed my budget. Thanks for any help!

That's about it. The 110 has the bigger fans and larger radiator to fit. Not much difference in cooling performance. Maybe a couple of degrees C under load.

I'll be doing mild overclocks and most of the time the PC will just be normally used. Web browsing, college work, watching tv shows. So I think I'll go with the H100i GTX as it does slightly look better and should have some sort of newer technology right?

The 140 fans might be a little quieter than the 120.

I'd go with the H100i GTX personally. They use Corsair SP120 fans. Static Pressure fans do perform better at lower speeds with less noise than 140 fans do in general. While the 140mm fans may be quieter, they won't push nearly as much air at the same RPM as the SP120 fans on the H100i. And, unless corsair recently SP140's, corsair doesn't have any static pressure 140mm fans.
Static pressure is kind of important when it comes to rads. Depending on the fan density and so on, you could really use it for pushing. And I don't recommend using pull with a rad. JayzTwoCents did a video on how well airflow works with push vs pull vs push/pull. Pull creates a vortex that causes loss of air flow too. Point being. I'd go with the H100i GTX. It's cheaper, and you have much better fan options for performance and noise out the gate and for future fan upgrades. |

Okay so H100i GTX is better than both the H115i and H110i GT. Got it, thanks for the help!

Pfft... if that's the case, we're all doomed. You trained me.
I mean, full disclosure. I just copy and paste bprat's advice he's given other people. The world hasn't caught on fire (completely) yet... so I think we'll be fine. |
