So recently I did a huge overhaul on my computer and rebuilt it in a new case with a new motherboard, power supply, case fans, water cooler, etc. I previously had only one R9 390 so I decided to get another one but it doesn't work as well as I'd hoped. I was wondering if any of you could give me some advice for making my crossfire experience smoother. I tried the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt first and it seemed to double my fps but now it's not really changed at all even with the user selected profile. It could be FreeSync interfering with it but without it on it stutters a lot probably due to it being below my 144 Hz refresh rate. Any advice? Anyone that has a crossfire rig that runs well and maybe has some wisdom to share about maximizing crossfire performance?
Also, it seems as though there is little to none help elsewhere online so I'm really hoping you guys can give me some advice. Edited by Acecateer - 07 Apr 2016 at 4:30pm |

See if this helps...
http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-articles/Pages/Optimizing-The-Witcher-3.aspx I've never used crossfire so hopefully this works. |

I'm guessing you checked Cataylst CC for crossfire Enable? And the bridge is connected correctly.

Just checked and I think the 390 did away with the bridge. It's all done through PCIE. I'm guessing your cards don't even have the connectors on the card.

Make sure you have the latest drivers and a couple of sites recommend altering the Rendering.ini file as in the link posted in the bin/config/base of installation folder.
After that, I got nothing. Check other games for cf support. Even with sli, some games don't utilize multi cards very well. |

Hi Acecateer,
You said at first it doubled your FPS but then it didn't work as well. Did that happen? Are your expecting two 390s to double your speeds? I don't think it works that way. Have you tried other games to see how it works with them? What speeds are you getting in a specific game? I don't know anything about crossfire but maybe you are expecting more than it is capable of producing. Have you tried the new card by itself to make sure it is working correctly? Just shooting in the dark, don't really know. Frank |

If ithe CF did boost performance at first but not now, then make sure both cards are still working. Plug your monitor into each with CF disabled just to check them individually.
