Hi Khatib... Assuming you're using a 1080p or 1440p monitor this build is very good and will game with no problems. I would suggest getting the other EVGA 750watt psu for another $43. More efficient and much longer warranty.
If you want sli capable with another 980ti get a 1000 watt psu. Otherwise, the 750 is all you need. For single 980ti I don't believe you need the side panel blow holes. Nothing wrong with getting the extra cooling so up to you. No HDD? That SSD might fill pretty quick and the Western Digital Black would give a lot of cheaper space for pics, downloads, old games, etc and very reliable. SSD for OS and main games and HDD for everything else. Edited by bprat22 - 14 Nov 2015 at 4:12pm |

Hi.
Yes I can upgrade the PSU. Thank you for the suggestion. Thanks for the reply. My monitors are older and cheaper but the one you listed might be the next purchase. My main confusion is on the motherboards. I cant really make heads or tails out of the ones listed and which is better and which is worse... Thanks again. |

Motherboards can definitely be the most confusing. Basically, if your a power user and want to toy with higher over clocks then the higher end boards are preferable. Best bet is to look at their specs under More Info and see if anything is needed. If it's all Greek then you probably don't need it and then pick a basis Asus. Asus has the better Bios interface, etc and my pick. But any of them get the job done. No bad picks.
The mobo you picked is perfectly fine. Edited by bprat22 - 15 Nov 2015 at 12:52pm |

you can narrow down your motherboard confusion by preparing a list of needs/wants, for instance:
1) do you want the best on-board sound you can get? 2) do you require wi-fi/bluetooth/thunderbolt? 3) do you expect to overclock or push the overclock high? 4) how many expansion slots do you foresee you'll need? 5) SLI or Crossfire capability? 6) high speed pcie or M.2 storage or is SATA fine? how much do you need?? 7) aesthetics (color scheme, etc.) 8) any brand loyalty? once you have answers to these questions you can begin to narrow down the choices. for me, since i game with headphones exclusively, i need the best onboard sound possible. that usually means a high-end board right off the bat. i also like to push my overclocking capability. i only require a 2-card sli config for graphics, so i don't need a 3 and 4-slot board. i do need connectivity options for high speed storage+sli, so i need a board/cpu combo that can supply the pcie lanes and power to the pcie slots in a 2-card config. i'm connected via ethernet, so wi-fi isn't important to me. i had a specific color scheme in mind so that factored in to my decision (albeit lower on the list). i also have brand loyalty towards Asus and they have the best UEFI bios in the industry imo. hope this helps. btw, i don't usually recommend X99 as a platform for people who don't use their computers for tasks like rendering, coding or 3d modeling as well as gaming, especially when they aren't running a 3-4 card sli config. i think you'd be better served with a Z170/Skylake platform myself. |

This has been very helpful thank you.
Unfortunately it seems that DS does not let you choose other than an X99 motherboard for the Apollo. One last question, I am considering getting a 980ti Hybrid card. Considering I am paying for the upgrade, is it worth it to go all out and get the Titan X? Thanks again. |

The level 1and 2 Apollo have the z170 mobo config.
The Titan X is a lot more money for about the same performance as the gtx980ti. Unless you need the 12gb vram, which I can't think of a gaming need, get the 980ti. |
