That is my above current configuration. I would love to hear what others think about it. I am looking for a gaming PC that will run with my 27" 1080p monitor. My monitor is 6 years old and I will probably be upgrading it in the future to something higher end. I doubt I'll go to 4K. I might go higher than 1080p on my next monitor but probably not by too much. I've been looking at the 30" curved monitors.

Here are some questions I still have:

1) Is the PSU going to be enough for this system?

2) Should I go with the standard chassis fans or ??

3) What do you guys think of my internal lighting option? I don't know much about this area and would appreciate some advice on which to pick and why.

4) Is the noise reduction worth it? Does it help much?

Thank you in advance for any advice and information.

I also want to thank DST4ME for his assistance to this point. Your advice was spot on DST4ME!

Looks pretty good to me, but I would tweak it a bit.....

Drop to 16gb ram.  All you need, and even that is more for most gaming.

Change the psu to the other 750watt for $34.  Better box, Gold vs Bronze, fully modular and longer warranty.

The fans are fine.

The internal lighting would be my pick.

Forget the noise reduction.

Not sure you need the Hero mobo for the extra cost, but certainly nothing wrong with it.  The Pro will give most gamers all they need.

If you want to go to 1440p monitor, the gtx 1070 will play very good, but the gtx 1080 gives you that edge for all games.  Either work, but the 1080 is about 10-20 % stronger frames.

Hope this helps. Big%20Smile

Definitely helps! Thank you bprat22! I was wondering about the PSU.

Do you think the extra ram would help with photoshop and web browsing (I tend to leave a LOT of tabs open).

Thanks again!

Unless you're into heavy editing then the 16gb should do it.  Depends on the programs and the files you manipulate, etc.   Photoshop doesn't have high memory requirements.

If in doubt, get the 32gb but my guess is that the 2nd 16gb will just sit idle. Big%20Smile

Well it's future proofing, recommended memory specs for one of the games he's interested in BF1, is 16, so it won't hurt if hes at 32. Though still more then necessary.

why are you getting the ASUS MAXIMUS VIII HERO mobo? what does it have that you need and are not getting with gaming pro mobo?

You have chosen parts that are inferior to what I had picked for you, you are putting money in a mobo that won't matter but short changed yourself on the psu.

If you want to go 32GB go ahead just know you are wasting your money unless you gonna do heavy duty photoshop.

Couple of reasons. First, I have had problems in the past with the caps on ASUS boards (years ago) so I like to buy higher end caps when possible. Second, I like the sound options better on this board. Third, slightly better overclocking.

The OC for your stage 1 will make no difference, only people that push to max have use for the oc feature/ability of this board. I could probably and easily oc your 6700k to 4.5GHz to 4.7GHz easy on both boards.

Now the higher end caps I can't argue with, but that is not that huge of a deal as far as life span goes, the gaming pro is not the low end model so I'm ok with the caps, but again its your choice and one I can't argue with, not sure I can justify $200 for it tho, to each his own.

change your psu back to the one I picked for you.

I had already done that but forgot to update it. Thanks for pointing it out.

Is the gaming pro better than the Z170-A in your opinion? I had been looking more at the Z170-A.

Thanks again for the advice!

Also, how did you post that configuration? I like the way you did that!

I put a lot of work in my configs.

the A is good I have not directly looked at both so I don't remember th details right now, I know A has much better reviews than the gaming pro.

My pleasure
