I intend to buy a rig with 2xGTX 980s. I originally thought I'd get the Asus 4K 31 inch PQ321Q. Now I'm considering 2xAsus ROG SWIFT 27 inch PG278Qs. I realize some people don't like the bezels when using 2 monitors and I really don't know if I will have a problem with that or not. I know which setup is preferred is highly dependent on which game is being played. I tend to go from one game to another. Mostly MMO's and single player RPGs. Next I intend to play Witcher 3 and am currently playing Pillars of Eternity and ESO. So what are your opinions? You don't need to be restricted to the two choices I listed.

Thank You,
Smarmy

The ROG swift is very fast monitor mostly designed towards FPS type games so it will work well with any games out there. It is a G-sync monitor which is supported by the GTX 980.
Do note that it only has a display port - no DVI or HDMI connectors.

From my post on another thread:

TN type for speed, IPS for quality, and you can use something like G-sync if you plan on using Nvidia Gforce Experience.

Price can go from 100 - well over 4k.

Here is a couple of links where you can browse and check out the best as well as learn about them.

Thank You, Pacesetter. My issue isn't which Monitor to get it's which would I like better in gaming, two 2k Monitors or one Monster 4k Monitor. I don't think I will find the answer to that without actually trying both in action which isn't likely.

You are right about trying makes us believers.

Two monitors can be hard to get used to if you are using both for the same game - splitting the scene, but, gaming on one and internet or whatever on the other can be a distraction also. Some love both ways but some feel it is a catch 22.

For me, when I have two clients running and use two computers and monitors I find the two monitors to be the hard part rather than the control of the characters.

The real answer for you is personal preference which you referred to in 'trying both in action'. Probably 80% of people would pick the 4K monitor in general because 2 monitors don't do it for many game genres but in that instance you can turn one off and still have the benefit in other games or multi-tasking.

I wish I had a solid answer but in the end it is up to you.
