So I recently upgraded to 3x GTX 980 Classifieds. All under water. I'm in the process of overclocking them all now. (anyone who is experienced with overclocking, especially in an SLI set up, knows oc'ing an sli config is 109804812083974x more frustrating to oc than a single gpu set up)
Anyways, these cards currently are powering the following: Main Monitor: ASUS PB287Q (4k resolution, 60hz). Secondary Monitor #1: PG278Q (1440p, 144hz) Secondary Monitor #2: PB278Q (1440p, 60hz) I'm obviously not running nvidia surround. But even without surround, this is a very hefty load... and given that I game, quite hard... the cards earn the worth. Using my cards to record game play on one monitor, while gaming @ 4k, while streaming on another monitor with OBS using my GPU's to capture and my cpu to render/encode. If I'm not streaming, I'll have netflix going on one, with maybe facebook in the background. Regardless, I work these bad boys. So the question is: Now that you know my current set up. Would you be interested in any benchmarks (I'll compared stock vs overclock benchmarks)? What type of benchmarks would you like (IE, give me a scenario to stress test). Otherwise I'll simply run straight 4k benchmarks with my 1440p's still on, but nothing happening... Also, it's almost christmas, so if anyone wants to get me another ASUS PG278Q as a gift... I'll love you forever. |

Oh I've already got a few pictures for you guys actually. Nothing in system, but I have the cards with the stock coolers, coolers removed, and water plates.
I was hoping to surprise you all with my updated system. Only thing we have to wait on is some new acrylic tubing. I couldn't reuse, so I have half hard tubing and half soft tubing for now. But do know, I already have some epic shots lined up. A friend of mine who does photo's professionally is going to help me out. Way to ruin the surprise though. ;) |

Of course I did, I'll post everything from an imgur album probably once I get my tubing in. Should be here on Tuesday-ish.

3 980's?
Didn't you have 3 780ti? As a 780ti guy would love to see the benchmarks. I just can't see a performance gain truly worth upgrading for |

what games will you be testing on? most of the console ports (FC 4, AC:U, SoM, DA:I, etc.) are crap for sli. it would be great to see you disable some cards and see what your performance numbers are with 1x/2x/3x 980s at various graphics settings. i would also like to see, in addition to fps numbers, frame time variance/pacing issues noted. multi player vs single player performance would also probably be interesting to see.

I did have 3x 780 Ti's, but I like the performance @ higher resolutions (by higher I'm talking 4k with multi monitor setups).
Sorry to be delayed on all of this. New year, tax season, I'm in the process of renew contracts with clients. Basically busiest time of the year. Just stopped by real quick because of a certain lady who hit me up on steam. |
