I just unboxed by new Velox today. I have a BenQ 2720Z monitor (that goes to 144 Hz refresh).
Windows 10 sees it as a generic PnP. The Nvidia GTC 980 Ti sees it as a 2720Z, but won't allow refresh rates higher than 60Hz. I'm running the same DisplayPort cable that until minutes ago was sending a 144Hz signal from my old graphics card. What am I missing? I updated the Nvidia drivers. Windows 10 (which I'll confess I don't know well), says that BenQ drivers are not necessary at the card will use the monitor's EDID to configure. I should add that there are not any BenQ windows 10 drivers on the manufacturer's site. Windows 7 and 8 only. And the BenQ forum is no help. :-( Sorry. Lost with both a new machine and new OS! Thanks! Facie Edited by Facie - 14 Nov 2015 at 11:55am |

uh oh, i'm thinking you're going to need to contact BenQ and get them to either take the monitor back to reflash the EEPROM with the correct EDID; or:
provide you with an INF mod override for the EDID. were you using this same monitor with the older card and it was being identified fine and running fine at 144Hz? if so, it would appear to be a problem with the 980ti driver and not the monitor. Edited by db188 - 14 Nov 2015 at 8:46pm |

I also believe using the Dvi-d port is the answer. Can't explain why, but give it a try.

Thanks. I'll head to the store today and give it a try. I'll report back in case anyone else has this issue at a later time.
