Went to check boot order in the BIOS and my mouse pointer was just all over the place... didn't pull in any direction just bounce here there everywhere.... couldn't click anything.
Is this common, was I hallucinating, can it be fixed or do I need to have the machine visited by a priest for an exorcism? |

My suggested order for determining the issue:
1) Alcohol of your choice. 2) Exorcism. 3) Reboot and see if it does it again. 4) If it does, unplug ALL unneeded peripheral devices (so basically everything but mouse + keyboard), try again. 5) If it still does it, try a USB port for the mouse that is directly wired to the motherboard (if it is not already). 6) Any USB 2.0 slots that are wired to the motherboard? If so try those instead of the 3.0. 7) If it still does it, is wireless mouse? If so try a wired mouse. 8) Try another Exorcism with a higher ranking individual from the religion/spiritual group of your choice. 9) Check your motherboard's BIOS driver change-log at the manufacturer's website to see if there is anything in there about USB controller updates (or something as would apply to your mouse that may necessitate an update). 10) Run away, don't stop running until you no longer feel a sense of immediate doom lingering just above you. |

Did it start right after your new SSD install? Maybe you can't answer that because you haven't been in Bios in awhile ?
Unplug the new SSD and try it again. New drivers for the mouse. An OS update might've messed with them. Same for gpu drivers. Let us know. |

Is the BIOS able to load non-chipset drivers before the OS loads? Genuine question, could be useful knowledge. |

I remember having the same problem once. I unplugged the mouse then plugged it back in again and it starting working fine. I didn't turn anything off just unplugged and plugged it back in. I hope you get it fixed.

Nope, I don't think drivers can load without the OS. Is the new SSD an OS boot drive ? Don't remember. |
