Was wondering if Digital Storm had plans to offer an X99 option on the new Bolt 3 somewhere down the line.
AsRock has an X99 mini board available on Newegg and elsewhere: Look up ASRock X99E-ITX/ac Offers the benefit of DDR4 (albeit still dual channel) and native USB 3.1 out of the box while still being a mini board. Also allows for the hex/octa core intel CPUs. |

Hi titansfan and welcome to the forums. I see you've asked this question elsewhere. I removed the other one and we'll let the experts weigh in on this thread.
Hope you enjoy your stay with us. |

Alex would need to answer this. He did in another thread, not sure if it would be needed or wanted with its other restrictions, like dual channel, single graphics card, etc in the small form factor. Although, if the popularity is there or needed to match a competitor, maybe they would.

Hello everyone,
I have some rather sad news regarding the ASrock X99E-ITX board. We ultimately decided against offering it in our featured builds. The board doesn't support the customized cooler we had made for the Bolt 3 and it further limited by the types of air coolers that fit the LGA2011-3 socket. Not all bad news however! If a customer really, really, really wishes to use this board we can special order it. Just get in contact with our sales team for more info. TL;DR: The cooling options for this board are just too limiting. If you really need this board we can special order it. Edited by Steven - 30 Apr 2015 at 11:53am |

A question that will surely come up is, what are the cooler options with a special order that would fit the Bolt 3?

Aww that's too bad! It does have unfortunately have the Narrow-ILM heatsink, which does limit cooling options out of the box without a separate narrow mounting bracket. Out of the box, ASRock does include 1 bracket that is compatible with the Cooler Master Seidon 120V Plus/120V CPU Water Coolers. Alternatively, EK sells a narrow ILM mounting plate for its EK-Supremacy series water blocks for their custom water cooling kits. Unfortunately, the Swiftech H220X (which I believe is the model for the closed-loop liquid cooler that Digital Storm offers(?)) does not include a narrow ILM LGA 2011 mounting bracket out of the box, nor sells one separately. I was hoping Digital Storm would be able to have their own narrow ILM bracket made (using the one ASRock includes as a reference) that is compatible with the Swiftech model for just this purpose, but it doesn't look like that is the case I appreciate the responses though guys, gives me plenty to think about before I order. EDIT: Saw this posted on Facebook actually: DigitalStormPC: We believe the X99 AsRock board uses the slim X99 mount option. If partners (EK, Bitspower, etc) make a compatible block, we could definitely incorporate something. EK definitely makes a compatible mount for its block, although Digital Storm's stance on this might have changed since the Facebook post was made at the beginning of April. Sorry I can't post any links to the products I referred to by the way, it doesn't let me yet Edited by titansfan - 30 Apr 2015 at 1:02pm |

EDIT: Well shoot, looks like titansfan beat me to the punch.
We looked into it and decided to go with the Cooler Master Seidon 120V/+ as recommended by ASrock. The X99 version of the Bolt 3 will not have the awesome cooler Swiftech created for us but you will have access to the top-tier of CPUs. I'm waiting for the day where ITX is no longer synonymous with compromise! BOLT 3 Ultimate X99 Version: X99 Bolt 3 Edited by Steven - 30 Apr 2015 at 1:47pm |

Neat Few questions for you and the rest of the team: 1. Since the radiator is 120mm instead of 240mm now, will the build still have a second fan installed just used for normal case airflow? 2. Does the existence of the EK mount and water block offer up any future alternative possibilities? 3. Any chance of you bribing / blackmailing / threatening / etc. Swiftech into manufacturing some Narrow ILM mounting brackets for their block? It's just a couple of inches of metal after all... Thanks again! |

1. It isn't strictly necessary but if you would like an additional fan installed make sure to include that in the notes when you place your order.
2. Possibly, the EK water block we tried here was just barely too large to fit in the included bracket. 3. It's a bit of long shot since we haven't had very many requests to offer the X99-ITX board in our systems but anything can happen. |

WOW you guys work fast! That's pretty amazing you managed to make it work! Just a few questions before I submit my purchase: 1. Does the limited warranty cover CPU damage as a result of overclocking? If yes, is it only covered based on the options selected under "CPU BOOST" in the configurator? 2. Does the limited warranty cover anything with respect to the 240 mm Digital Storm Vortex AIO cooler? Specifically any of the following: Damage caused to other components by leakage Fluid replacement (Is it rated for 3 years, or longer?) Pump Noise Problems caused by Defect (not normal noises) Thanks again for all your help guys, can't wait to get this baby built and in my office Edited by titansfan - 30 Apr 2015 at 7:50pm |

1. Yes it's covered as long as the system remains at the settings we use on the PC at the factory or from our support team.
2. Yes on all of those. Sweet! |
