Hello everyone im a brand new person when it comes to gaming PC (i have never got one) needless to say im also clueless about building one (so far im going by "if its more expensive it should work better") nonetheless i made a configuration on an apollo
Configuration Code: 1407878 Total Price with Instant Savings: $3,283.00 I would like some feedback on this one if its possible since im not even sure if the compenents i chose work well together, plus 3k is a little bit expensive for me at the time, im mainly gonna use it for online gaming and get two 1080p monitors in the future and if i can get some tips so it makes little to no noise at all that will be awesome, thanks you guys PS: sorry for my bad english |

Hi Kosmek..... That is a nice build but I made up one that'll save you $400 and give you all you need.
Config # 1407972 Cost $ 2895 Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Digital Storm Apollo (White) Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 6700K 4.0GHz (Codename Skylake) (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING (Intel Z170 Chipset) (Up to 5x PCI-E Devices) System Memory: 16GB DDR4 2666MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series Power Supply: 850W EVGA SuperNOVA Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Optical Drive: Blu-Ray & DVD Writer/Reader (Burn + Play Blu-Ray & DVDs) (12x BD-R) (Internal) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD M.2 (256GB Samsung 950 PRO) (NVM Express) (Extreme Performance) Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (1TB Western Digital - Black Edition) Storage Set 3: - No Thanks RAID Config: - No Thanks RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Graphics Card(s): 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB (ASUS Strix Edition) (VR Ready) Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux LITE: Integrated Cooling System (CPU Only) HydroLux Tubing Style: Flexible Tubing (Requires HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) HydroLux Fluid Color: Blue Fluid (Requires HydroLux Liquid Cooling System) Cable Management: Exotic Cable Management - Blue - (Cable Combs with Custom Color Sleeved Extension Cables) Chassis Fans: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue) Airflow Control: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stage 1: Overclock CPU - Up to 4.4GHz (Depends on Cooling and Motherboard) Graphics Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) OS Boost: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Home (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 10-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty (3 Year Labor & 1 Year Part Replacement) I changed the Haswell E 5820k platform for the Skylake Z170/6700k. It tests better in gaming. The 6 core 5820k is also very good and not a bad choice, just that this is just as good for less. I also changed the sli 970 for a single 980 ti. The sli 970 is a little stronger than the 980 ti , but not by much and the single card is always preferable over the potential problems of sli. Actually, for your 1080p monitor, a single 970 is all you need. I have a 970 that maxes everything on my 1080p. I put in the 980 ti just to cover whatever you plan to do with the second monitor. I dropped the chassis fan upgrade. Not needed imho. I dropped the noise reduction package. You can keep if and let them tweak the fans for you, but doing it yourself in Bios, AI Suite or other programs is pretty simple and gives you flexibility. Lots of ways to go. This setup gives you about the same performance, less headaches with sli and saves some money for monitors, games, etc. Hope this helps and good luck. Edited by bprat22 - 30 Apr 2016 at 7:50am |

Wow thanks a lot for the feedback and the savings!! If if everybody agrees with him I'll go with that configuration
I just have another question I read somewhere if you choose a bluray laser it won't play blurays unless you download additional programs, is that true? |

Not many people disagree with bprat when it comes to configurations, troubleshooting, etc. I'm not saying he's never misguided or incorrect.... but it's very rare.
Most of the configuration people around here are very knowledgeable and only want to help others enjoy DS systems that come within their budget yet still getting the most they can out of their machine. |
