I am about to switch out my EVGA GTX 980 for a GTX 1080 and am wondering about which of the many brands I should be focusing on.
Not sure if I remember one being more reliable than another. I don't overclock anything so however the card comes is how it gets set up. Any opinion is appreciated |

EVGA is number 1 for its quality and excellent support, but Asus and MSI are also very good quality cards with features and custom boards to match. I have an MSI gtx 970 and its been great. Wouldn't hesitate to get another.

Yep, I have heard the same. I can't remember hearing anything really negative about any of the main brands.
What fun! Something I probably can't make a mistake on! |

My last three cards have been EVGA but it wasn't a case of specifically looking to buy that particular brand. In my Bolt X, that's the brand they installed. My previous two cards, I just went based on price and Amazon reviews. They've been solid performers so far though, so no complaints.

Definitely another +1 for EVGA. The only thing I don't like about EVGA are their narrow warranty registration windows. Others don't even make you register, though others don't have as good of support, so there's that.

EVGA is #1. Even if you do have a problem with their cards, what makes them amazing is their customer service. It's almost to the point that it's like they don't even ask what the problem is, they just offer RMA and you're good to go.
ASUS is #2 because of their amazing build quality but terrible customer service. Everyone else after those are cheap. Perhaps some of them are good over in EU, but MSI, PNY, ZOTAC, Gigabyte.. in my opinion are all cheap manufactures, of which you'll never find in any of my builds, ever. MSI has some decent motherboards, but really that's where they stop. |
