Unless you are really in a hurry to burn through those meth lab profits, you may want to opt for something other than the i7-6950X.
The full Broadwell-E review can be seen here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10337/the-intel-broadwell-e-review-core-i7-6950x-6900k-6850k-and-6800k-tested-up-to-10-cores Edit: P.S. those prices are probably prices per processor coming in a tray to OEM's. Retail box pricing will be a little bit higher. Edited by - 30 May 2016 at 11:39pm |

Unfortunately I have no choice... because #enthusiast. I'll be ordering my 6950x and my 1080's around the same time.

I'm sorry to say, but they're fleecing you man
On a different note, will you be delidding your processor to drop the temps 4-6 degrees using a liquid gallium alloy? |

Why is the 6850K not available at DS?
My current Bolt 3 config has a 5820K, guess I'll either stick with that or get the 6800K for the tiny bump in performance. Edited by Goku1910 - 31 May 2016 at 8:24pm |

I have a feeling you won't notice any difference. The measured difference will probably be in the low single digit percentage. |

Which is why I'm probably sticking with the 5820K. In a Bolt, the extra PCI-E lanes would be pointless and the increase in clock speed is negligible.

A while...games and many other programs still don't fully saturate 8 threads of processing. Also, budget computers need to remain just that, budget focused.

I don't blame you. You may want to consider spending an extra $50 on the Intel Performance Tuning Protection Plan to cover yourself if you accidentally fry your chip. Or at least hold on to your 5960X processor to use in the event that the 6950X fails and can be used during the 30-day waiting period between purchasing the plan and being able to return the processor.
You can also use cooling methods that reduce the temperature to below ambient to gain additional performance similarly to improved conductivity by increasing the thermal gradient between the heat spreader and the silicon. |

I'm waiting and not buying this first wave firstly.. I gotta wait for the Rampage V Edition 10 plus some nice mono blocks anyways. I'm taking my time with this build. I am going to start on the loop slowly, but I want to wait until the Ti's or Titans come out before I start doing the gpu loop bends. So I got plenty of time.

Water cooling components won't have radical advancements over time, so that stuff will continue to stand up over the long run. Same thing with cases (If you're lucky, you may be like me and get a case you want that is discontinued wouldn't be available later on).
I believe EK is fairly consistent with the placement of the terminals, and it seems like EVGA is keeping their high-end cards at 5.94in. high, so I would think the position would be the same as your old 780 Ti Classy cards. But I'm guessing you've sold that, so that wouldn't help...(thinking to myself as I'm typing this). |

I got rid of those classifieds and their blocks when I did my 980 Ti build. And I'm passing this whole build on to my boys little brother. Kid is like 13 trying to game on a desktop bought from Wal-mart lol.
But, what I'm interested in waiting for is to see if there are any aesthetic changes for one, how will the full covers look compared to the non-full covers... you know, small things. Are there any new lines coming out or perhaps they are self polishing the acrylic blocks now... sweet jesus I wish they would. Save me the time. I'm weird with my water cooling. Outside of rad's... I really don't reusing stuff. Not really sure why. It's like a bad case of retarded OCD. |

We've previously talked about how EVGA is putting the Hydro Copper on a custom PCB with more power phases and whether it would be equivalent to the Classified. I wonder if you were to remove the EVGA branded plate over the acrylic portion, if it would be a polish piece across its entirety. There would still be the few tapped holes for mounting the plate, but otherwise would be completely clear.
The position and size of the terminal on the top of the block is different than their standard one, so the terminal bridges wouldn't work...you just have to link them up with fittings/tubes. The pumps have a 50,000 hour mean time between failure (MTBF) to them. If you changed them out every 5 years or so, you should be fine in prevention of catastrophic system failure. Most fittings should be good for your lifetime; perhaps changing out the O-rings if your touching them every few years might be a good thing, but should hold up otherwise. Blocks are typically dependent on the PCB they are being mounted to, so you don't have much choice there outside the occasional generation-to-generation common layout. |

I don't the hydro copper plates though. I'll have to see if i can find the reviews of them from the 700 series, but I heard they experience bad internal flaking and chipping over the years. Plus, I'm not about to pay that extreme premium for a HC. I think EVGA charges too much, and I love EVGA -_-

EVGA's pricing has gotten bad lately, especially with the K|ngp|n binning.
It looks like, according to leaked Intel timelines that Broadwell-E will have somewhat of an abbreviated shelf life of only 10-12 months instead of the typical 18. Apparently, EVGA is also shifting away from EK for the water blocks for the Hydro Copper for the 10-series: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?s=313b50f5b3514a36bab5a34178449a02&p=29556138&postcount=7. |
