Topic: Build Advice Posted: 04 Mar 2017 at 6:49pm |
I'm looking to do an Apollo build with high end gaming performance in mind. The goal is to be able to run AAA games in 1440p at ultra settings without dipping below 60fps.
I'm still in the process of deciding between an Acer XB271hu (2560x1440@144hz) and an Asus PG348q (3440x1440@100hz), though i'm guessing this build will have no issues with either. I'm mostly wondering about hardware compatibility, though suggestions in any area are welcome. Any thoughts? Hi vnrenshi.... Looks good to me. I have nothing other than to suggest a smaller psu unless you plan on sli, which the 1080ti negates the need for. Nothing wrong with the 1000 watt so not a big deal.
I also, at this point, would go 7700k over the newer Ryzen. Faster clocks and unsure what the added cores will do. AMD is still on my unsure list. Good luck and let us know how it goes. |

I'm considering going with a gold rated EVGA 850w PSU instead, though i have the budget and "might" consider a pair of 1080 ti's down the road if there's enough reward from SLI in upcoming AAA dx12 titles.
And i agree on Ryzen, as i've had terrible experiences with AMD parts quality in the past. I'd rather wait for Skylake X anyways, which i'm sure is going to make Ryzen look pretty shoddy in the not too distant future |

Sounds like a plan.
