OK give me a little more info, what res will you be gaming at? is it only for gaming? are you building this yourself? I assume you are trying to save as much money as possible?

Sure - I am building this for myself. I will be gaming at 1080 - but may be going to 1200 soon. I only really want it for gaming and just general other use... Internet , maybe some Netflix stuff like that.

Ok great, I think I almost have all the info I need, but one question, I'm not sure if we are on the same page on the resolution.
when I say 1080p we are talking 1920 × 1080 , next one up is 1440p ( 2560 x 1440), basically the last number is the referred to as the res, since it makes the biggest difference. So I'm confused when you say you maybe going 1200, are you referring to 1600 x 1200? or is it something different? Do you know how to and are you going to be ocing this cpu? Ok For that budget why not go with a 6700K? you can have great power for a few years to come. If you want I can help you pick a few parts for it, and it will be under your budget.
As for your config, for a price of a 4690k you can get a new better cpu. the 4960 is socket 1150 the mobo you have chosen is socket 1151, not sure why you have the 4690 as 1151 its not. There is more but let me know which direction you want to go, new tech under your budget or the old tech (4690k) and we will go that route. |
