I'm a university student, I've been saving and got about 2000$. I'm thinking of buying a Digital Storm gaming PC and I'll use it for 4 years straight without upgrading(may upgrade RAM and motherboard). Not a hardcore or pro gamer but I do want my games to run smooth on high settings. I've customized some PC, please give me your thought on them and your personal advice regarding my budget:
1. Chassis Model: Digital Storm VANQUISH 5 Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 (Turbo Up to 3.80 GHz) Motherboard: ASUS/MSI (Intel Z270 Chipset) System Memory: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz Digital Storm Performance Series Power Supply: 750W EVGA/Corsair Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (240GB Digital Storm Performance Series) Storage Set 2: 1x Storage (1TB Seagate / Toshiba) Graphics Card(s): 1x GeForce GTX 1080 8GB (NVIDIA Founders Edition) 2. Ho Cloudei... Of the ones listed, I would grab the first one and change the CPU to the i7-7700 for its faster clock speed and more threads with Hyper threading. The extra threads helps with everything but maybe games, and the faster single core clock helps with games.
I would also keep your primary drive as an SSD and would want at least a 600 watt Psu. The 750 watt is nice but a 600 watt will work. The Vanquish 5 is best bang for your buck. The other builds. Is if you're willing to pay extra for a different case, for esthetics, quieter by a little as in 400q, etc. Change the secondary HDD to the Western Digital Black. More reliable and much better warranty. If your monitor is a 1080p then a gtx 1070 is all you need. Hope this helps . Edited by bprat22 - 11 Mar 2017 at 4:05am |
