I am super excited about the new PC I purchased, but in my excitement I forgot to look how long it takes for them to build/test the new pc? And when I look online it just N/A. Ordered on the 6th so wasn't sure how long I should wait before expecting a ship date?

2 weeks build time for Vanquish and 3 weeks for the custom builds, but DS is coming off an extremely busy holiday season which, every year, slows things down.

This is not common knowledge, but your big 3 shipper of packages rely on each others' infrastructure to move packages. When you ship something UPS, there is a very good chance it has spent time in the hands of the USPS or FEDEX and vice versa.
The problems in the actual shipping are not specific to each company/organization. Where the specific problems come in are on the front end (Package pickup) or the back end (Delivery). If you have a problem with that you can blame the company... If you have an issue with timing, it's not always that company's fault. And this time of year there are other factors that include the weather. Just sayin' .... |

Being in the shipping business for over 20 years i can tell you that they do switch hands but not most times and not most packages.
Yes some things can be picked up or dropped off by usps for example but those are obvious. from time to time in an emergency they might shift the deliverys but mainly ups packages are not handled by FedEx and vise versa. Ups trucks/planes handle only ups packages. Now for example if shipper DS uses a vendor that uses a courier to take package to ups facilities and then ups brings it to your city and then in your city grabs the package from ups and uses usps or another vendor for the last mile delivery, then yes your package got handled by a bunch of people /companies and in that case one blames DS for using a Shipping vendor that has your package going all over the place. But these types of big boxes are handled by UPS from door to door. In that case you blame ups. Most of these big boxes get damaged on the belts, some of them have a drop that is too far for our pcs, and a small drop with all that weight will do it, some are damaged during ground on the truck because either it or another box/s are not tied down right so they smash into each other during the ride, and last is the pick up or delivery driver not properly taking care of your box Now as far as ground is concerned they do at times use a 3rd party vendor to keep up with deliveries so you might see a FedEx and ups box on a bed of a truck but that is not them relying on each other, that is just third party vendor. Same goes for sorting facilities. Edited by DST4ME - 19 Jan 2018 at 2:37am |

You can learn how your system is put together when you reassemble the pieces, what a concept! Kudos.

Email. [email protected]. You should’ve at least seen a stage 1 or 2 that it was processed and moving along.

As soon as you read this, send an email to either Alex, John and/or Management as a whole. Yes, it's Saturday and they're not "officially" open until Monday, but you never know if someone doesn't come through on the email messages. Those of us who've been around awhile know that Alex & co have answered many questions on the weekends before. If you've received no updates from Stage 1 in 10 days something is amiss. Whether it's something as simple as a lack of communication or something more involved, there needs to be an answer. Good luck, close this window, open email windows and start sending.... now. |

I believe DS has 8 stages to build and ship. My second DS machine, Vanquish Lev 3 was ordered Jan 4 and is on Stage 7. Says it will be shipped within 1 business day.
"Leal47" I'm confused as to how UPS delayed your shipment? Did UPS call you or email you? How or why would UPS delay the shipment? Weather perhaps? |

"Stage 8" is a fictional stage where we, the forum rats, get your system for extensive testing in our own homes. This was started by our very own DST4ME and is the driving force behind the joke. Digital Storm's stage 7 is the shipping stage. Once you're there you are literally waiting for the delivery folks to get your system to your door. It is a time of nervous rejoicing. In reference to UPS delaying the package; this is entirely possible with the recent spate of inclement weather predominately there in the northeast. Sometimes the weather is so bad even the trains won't run.. They will do their best to move the packages as soon as safely allowed. It does them no good to hold them for any other reason. Hope this helps. Cheers. |
