I'm hoping to get an Aventum 3 system with three GTX 980 Ti Asus Strix video cards. Here is the problem though: Each of the Asus cards has two 8-pin power connectors. This means I would need a total of six 8-pin PCI-E power connectors.

Looking at the Aventum 3 photos online, it appears that it only has four 8-pin connectors. Hmmm. Is it possible to put three of these video cards in the Aventum?

Dang, that would seem to imply that I can't have three Asus Strix cards in there.

Bummer. Maybe I would be better off with the Hailstorm 2?

the power supply for a 1200i (for example) has:

so even though the convenient panel connections don't offer enough the psu still gives you plenty.  they'll just have to route the cables from behind the tray.

no, the Aventum 3 is still their premium custom connectivity box.

That's a shame. One of the nicest features of the Aventum 3 is that cable clutter is kept to a minimum. It would be a bummer to run two additional 8-pin power cables from the back of the case.

I guess it's not so bad. I was looking at photos, and the PCI-E power connectors are located so high that you can't really see them unless you get down really low and look up into the case. I'm sure they could sneak a couple of 8-pin cables around from the back, bringing them over the top near the other PCI-E power connectors.

Oh...I guess they could use some dual-6-pin to 8-pin power adapter cables. (I think those exist.) The trick will be finding them in red.

the Corsair power supplies have optional colored sleeve cable kits you can just request from DS.  the 24-pin is sold separately.

Thanks DB188. You're a wealth of knowledge.

DS just contacted me, and they will be using the red sleeve kit.
