budget:
1500-1800 semi hot room Need to play Diablo 3, starcraft 2, dota 2, surfing, hulu on high settings (if not ultra) Need to load stuff blazing fast Resolution of monitor: going to be using 1680x1050 currently (if it dies i may upgrade to a 1900x1080 one). Link: http://www.digitalstormonline.com/comploadsaved.asp?id=692062 Please pick apart my build as much as possible. I am wondering if the A50 would be suffice for the 670 + OC level 1 and anyone have anything bad to say about the mobo? should i upgrade to a deluxe one if i don't plan on SLI? thank you Edited by darbebo - 24 May 2012 at 10:23am |

Hi darbedo..... That is a real nice build.
You got the SSD you really wanted and the gtx670 is about the best for the money and tops in my book.. The A50 with stage 1 oc is good to go and the case has a 200mm side fan to blow right on the mobo/gpu. If you don't care about sli or WiFi built in then the mobo is fine. For the bucks, there is no suggestions from me. Others might chime in and give suggestions. Don't forget to plug in the free t-shirt. Good Luck Edited by bprat22 - 24 May 2012 at 10:34am |

You know me....I will always recommend the HafX if its in the budget. I'm like a broken record.
But, the 670 does send most of it's heat out the back and the stage 1 oc plus the side fan blowing air on things should handle it no problem. Ideally, would be a top fan, but it is what it is.

You can concievably add a 200mm cooler master fan to the top as well.
Also, theres a place over the videocards that you can add a 120mm fan. My cards were getting to 85-86C before it, now max out around 77. Definitely a must if you go SLI, still helpful with 1 card.

Yes. When it comes to boot times or loading games, there is no substitute for an SSD. I have the 240GB version of that SSD in my laptop, and boot time is between 15 and 20 seconds, and opening large programs is ridiculously fast. Also, file transfer is extremely rapid. I transferred about 20 songs (about 170MB) instantaneously (less than 1 second). It would have taken my old desktop (with an HDD) almost 50 seconds. Also, booting Netbeans takes less than 5% of the time it did on an HDD. It is a necessity.
