To get below $1500, I had to go with the K380 case, drop the SSD and change gtx 970 to the 960. If you could go to $1600 you could keep the gtx 970.    If not, I'd keep the gtx 970 and change the i7 to the i5-6600k. This assumes mainly gaming on a 1920x1080 monitor.

Hope this helps.

Is there a particular reason you would nee the i7? If not, the Level 4 Vanquish is hard to beat if you're on a budget.

The Vanquish level 3 and 4 are the best bang for your buck as Nav said.   Just can't beat it.

If your willing to spend more because you just want the Apollo 760t case or the new Skylake cpu , Z170 mobo, then you will need to spend more for the same performance. Skylake does have more ram and pcie bandwidth and other features, but gaming performance isn't that much more.... 5% from initial reads. But you do get the latest. Easier to add a graphics card later than a new cpu/mobo. I'd get the Vanquish lvl 4.

I wish I could get all the specs of a Vanquish 4 in an Apollo Case. I don't have an income so I have a fixed budget. :c. Guess I'll just have to do with the the Vanquish 3.
