Why is it that when I am at the checkout stage it shows that there are no taxes even though sales tax is 13% and the shipping and handling is $1900 when in the shipping calculator it gave me a options from $200 to $500?

Where do you live?   Sales tax is if you live in California only.   If you're Canada or overseas you need to talk to DS to calculate duties, import taxes, etc.

The prices were in Canadian dollars I believe. And I don't think there's any import taxes or duties because the shipping options just says canada instead of international

For what it's worth, you may want to hold off on ordering until DS gets its Canadian office all set up. Apparently, if you order from DS California the shipping duties and taxes are going to be a littler higher.

Send an email to [email protected] and ask him about shipping over the border.

There are import duties and taxes from US to Canada for most Provinces.   Heres a calculator....

the website says the office opens on the 17th when it said 10th yesterday. why is that?

Also i saw someone on twtter say there was a CA website and a US website. does anyone know how to get on the CA website?

I'll clarify:

(1) The team is finishing up some minor issues with the Canada ordering process. The taxes and shipping should be ok after today, try this Tuesday.

(2) The ".com" website is going to take care of Canada, there will be no ".ca" domain.

(3) The launch date was changed for the grand opening of the facility, but orders will still be able to be processed.

this is just so bloody great... I'm really stoked that DS opened a shop there in Canada. Have some Canuck friends that can now enjoy the DS experience without those ridiculous shipping charges, duties, etc..
