Am I coming in too low with the CPU? What could I change to save a little $?
Budget: ~3K Expectations: "Perfect" gaming experience for the newest games, BF3, Need For Speed, SWtOR, and whatever else looks good. Usage: This would be a dedicated gaming rig, nothing else. The i7-3770k cpu is the latest. The 500 w psu wouldn't do it so changed it to the 750Hx. The SSD is right on but I did add the HDD for storing data files, games not used as much. etc. The gtx680 you picked is right on. It will play BF3 at ultra settings in the 50 fps and above . Smooth game play. The Phanteks cpu cooler and stage 2 overclocking give a good boost in gaming with the cooler keeping things cool I dropped the Killer card. All reports say it does little. The added audio card you included i also included, although onboard audio does a very good job. Nor sure what speaker system you have so your call as usual. See what you think and good luck |
