Budget:
$2,300

Expectations:
Efficiency and stability

Usage:
Daily

Special Needs:
N/A

Saved Ticket #: 1484776

Specifications:

I've configured this, but I'm very unsure whether the cooling and case options are complementary. I definitely don't want placement and design to decrease the effectiveness of the airflow. Since I am definitely price sensitive at this point, I was only looking at the Coridium, Apollo, and possibly, the Velox cases.

Which case would not impede airflow due to case design? Also, is the choice in airflow good for my build? I am also unsure of the I7 6700 and 6700k. Do I really need the slight performance increase? Thanks!

What is the system for?

The answer to most of your questions is dependent on what you want to use the pc for, is it gaming, is it productivity?

The monitor's resolution will determine what graphics card is best.   Assuming this is for gaming and the typical 1080p monitor, the gtx 1060 will play most games with little trouble. I would suggest the gtx 1070 if you want to max all games and give yourself some headroom for games in a year or two.

I would suggest the stage 1 overclock. You have the 6700k and Noctua to handle it. Overclocking does give better, smoother performance. No a huge difference, but it does help.

If you don't want overclocking, drop to the 6700, non k, which isn't unlocked for overclocking. Saves money. You could go to a cheaper CPU cooler if no overclocking, which generates added heat.

A 750watt psu is all you need for single video card. If you want the option to sli, 2x video card, then the 850watt would be a consideration.

As far as your airflow concern, any of the cases you considered will work just fine.   It's more aesthetics on your part what you pick.

I'm using it for work and gaming. I only play Wow at the moment. I work with access and excel. I do some intensive work with access though.

I was thinking that I might want a 1070. Thanks for your help! I will definitely look into overclocking.

Bit of info:

1. Do not install Mcafee , instead get a lighter better anti virus like ESET ( number 3 on the list ) Or any other good light Anti Virus will do.

2. With extra fans request that DS changes all case fans and connects all your fans to the mobo so you can control them via free software. This way we can control the fans without needing anything else (aka fan controller and etc).
Also be sure to pick the color of the ring you wan the fans to have (red/blu/white).

3. The warranty here is 3 year labor and 1 year parts so if you want higher part warranty be sure to raise the warranty level to the desired level.

Here is a base build for you, it won't do as good as the above but close:

Ticket Number: 1484940

keep in mind my recommendation is the cordium build but the vanquish will do fine also, it just does not have the parts that I like starting with the cpu cooler.

Good to know. I am adding the Ac68 adapter because I need wifi. Is this good?
I will be adding the router to pair them up. I have a great modem.

Also, do I need a better soundcard?

I would look around and double check the stats of that ac68 vs a simple good usb adapter, no matter how good your wifi system is it will not come close to Lan and you will have lag.

Teh sound on today's mobos are very good, why don't you see how you like it first then get a sound card if you still think you need one, most don't.

Good advice! Unfortunately, I need wifi because I don't want to run a line through my apartment.

For wifi as I menioned check the specs of this one against a good mini ubs one.

Actually the ac68 wifi card is not compatible with win10, make sure you find one that is compatible with the os you choose.

Kk. Is there any reason not to get the 1080? If I do, which version should I get?

I just wanted to say that you were extremely helpful. I'm building a pc that I can feel good about. It's not full of stuff that I won't benefit from in some way. Thanks so much!
