Hey guys!
So I have been doing some research and asking around about my screen tearing issue, not a huge problem to the point where I can't do anything. I just have a few questions if anyone could answer, it'd be a great help! Currently owning a Level 3 Vanquish (best desktop pc ever owned) + a basic standard 60Hz monitor 1. While stating my issue to a co-worker of mine, he believes that the Graphics Card (NVidia GTX 760) in my Vanquish is too strong for my Monitor to handle. Beforehand I had a Radeon HD 6900 and I never had a single problem at all. Is this true? 2. Sometimes I would get slight screen tear even on my desktop screen. In my NVidia control panel, VSync is off. If I turn it on, will it fix my desktop screen from tearing? 3. I have been recommended the supposedly famous BenQ 120Hz monitor. Would that do any good? I have never experienced screen tearing before, ever. This is all new to me so I am here asking for knowledge! Edited by BBoySynk - 19 Aug 2013 at 11:59pm |

you can try vsync to see if it helps for you.
Did you try calling DS to make sure there is no other issue causing it? maybe they can help you troubleshoot some thing. What monitor do you have? My cheap monitor is a 27" and only 60 hz and I have no issues with my GTX 670. |

I'll try turning it on tomorrow morning.
I have an Acer 20" 60Hz, if all fails I will call up DS |

Mine is an Acer also.
I got it cheap and it was bigger than my old monitor so I bought it. Bigger helps my old eyes see better. |

I also understand that turning VSync on can cause lag since it will only go up to 60 FPS, so I might end up getting a 120Hz to improve smoothness.
Back when I was still using my old pc, I never really had to apply any changes to much. Perhaps there are some things I haven't done on my Vanquish. First time NVidia user |

Turn on Vsync as an immediate fix, this will eliminate tearing. I have a BenQ XL2720T... It's freaking amazing. I never understood how much I had been missing @ 60Hz until I upgraded to 120

You gotta remember with a 60 hz monitor it can only display 60 fps which is causing your issue (I assume you know this).
If you're not considering a higher hz monitor because "It doesn't make a difference" that's not true, the eye can seriously get used to 120 fps and you WILL see a difference. If you have the extra cash I recommend the Asus VG248QE 24-inch It's on the config page and with it's 1ms response time, support for 3D vision and 144Hz, it's epic for gaming! Also most gamers go for monitors in the 20-25 inch displays so it's got a good screen size too. EDIT: wow, first time nvidea user??? wow, you don't know what you have been missing out on..... Crap, here come the gpu wars whoops Edited by cobie555555 - 23 Nov 2013 at 11:06pm |
