Got a question. Just recently (15 minutes ago) received a Vanquish Level 4. When I opened everything I noticed that the cpu cooler was dislodged from the cpu. The thermal paste was dried and my question is this: Can i simply remove/reapply the paste then attach the cooler? Is there anything else that would be an issue with this? I'll have to go out and find some paste at a local store, but yeah that's my situation. :(

If it's the Zalman cooler than just clean the old paste with alcohol, apply new paste and clip the cooler back on.   You might have to loosen the screws to hook the clip to adapter and then tighten screws.

Hopefully it just popped of and nothing is broken.

Good luck.

You'll want an electronics store, like Fry's, possibly Radio Shack.

Hey Lordserb,

If you feel like your system was damaged at all during shipping please give our phone support team a call so we can document the damage. This will allow us to file a claim with UPS should any problems pop up from the shipping damage.

it's prob not damaged, just a janky mounting system that can's stand up to the rigors of shipping. didn't someone else have this problem? also, check in the box of extras DS sent you for the paste. if not there, they should be able to send you some.

I ended up getting some paste from a local computer shop. First time applying the stuff but I probably watched/read a few hours worth of guides on how to do it so I felt alright. CPU temps stable at 32-33 so far so I think it's doing alright.

Great temps and congrats on fixing it.

To be sure, stress the CPU/cooler/paste by running a game and checking temps with HWMONITOR.

Playing fallout 4 the cpu cores max'd at around 77C. From what I was reading that seemed alright for temps.
