DigitalStorm Vanquish 7 Level 4 Question

This system has everything I want except the Hard Drive. I want a 1TB SSD instead of two hard drives. Is there anyway to do this? I dont want to upgrade to a Slade.

The Vanquish has the SSD and a HDD.   If you wanted to change that you'd have to configure a different build, like Slade, Lumos, etc.  DS doesn't allow changes to the Vanquish since they're pre built when possible. 

The savings you get with Vanquish is because DS can build them with known config instead of the custom configs.

Why not get vanquish and drop in your own 1tb ssd and use the 2 hdd as storage?

Wouldn't this void my warranty? Also how would I reinstall windows without a CD Drive?

No it won't void warranty, your warranty is for one year.

You can install windows with usb drive and ms will even give you the download or help you make it.

Also you can clone your os drive to your ssd but it is best you fresh install on ssd

Last there is always the external cd/dvd drive

So there are a few options

I am disabled and have very shaky hands. It's the main reason I am buying versus building is I cant really build my own anymore.... I'll try to find a friend maybe who can help me.

First let me say I'm sorry to hear about your condition.


You adding m. 2 ssd or sata?

Sata should be easy enough depending on you but i don't know how shaky you are, but if you can eat hold a spoon with food init then you should be ok, if not ask a friend.


But first contact Alex and tell him your condition abd see if they can help you out since you are disabled and this is a different situation.

He said no exceptions. I cant possibly make the modifications myself. Ill shop around some more I guess.

They don't owe me anything I understand that so I don't expect it. I was just hoping there would be some compassion for my situation. I suppose not. I had a lung transplant 6 months ago and this is the first PC I've ever bought. I've always built my own. Just one change to an existing machine is too much I guess. Ultimately I appreciate their time in talking with me.

Thanks for your help DST4ME. Thank you Alex for corresponding with me so much over email. I sincerely appreciate it. I want to thank everyone in this thread who has helped me. I sincerely appreciate it. It's nice to meet kind people in the world and online.

I may very well compromise and just get the level 4 Vanquish.

I have 2 more questions. Is a 600 watt power supply enough for the 1080? Also is a fan air cooler enough for the i7? Some other websites recommend liquid cooling for the i7.

A 600 watt psu can handle a gtx 1080. I like a bit more but that’s me.

A decent air cooler is ok for a 4 or 6 core cpu as long as you keep stock and Turbo speeds and don’t push it higher.

The air cooler here I believe is the Hyper 212 evo which is very good.

Yeah I like a bit more too. As PSUs get older they lose a bit.

I absolutely wont overclock the thing so the air cooler should be ok I suppose.

Air coolers don’t leak, pumps fail or have software issues.   They just run.

Well the Vanquish 7 Level 4 you cant change it. So Im just gonna go with the 600 it comes with.
