Would anyone be courteous enough to let me know if this configuration (https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1469789) would work with modded games such as Fallout:New Vegas and Skyrim I plan on installing enbs and I'm wondering if this PC would be sufficient enough to handle a pimped out bethesda game

A modded Skyrim with realistic and texture mods can be very demanding on even a gtx 970. Your setup will run it for sure but you might have to tone down in game graphics and possibly some of the mods.
Not sure your monitor resolution but even at 1080p I'd get at least the gtx 970 or even better, the new gtx 1060 or 1070. I don't know if Skyrim utilizes more than your dual core CPU, so can't help there, but a quad core is my suggestion. It will run what you want, but maybe not at above 40fps for example at 1080p. |

If your budget is the $1100, I'd go to $1257 and get the Vanquish level 2 with its quad core CPU and gtx 1060 graphics card. Much better bang for your buck.

My pleasure.
The Vanquish line is always a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the custom builds, even with identical parts, because it's partially pre prebuilt and DS like to move them. That extra money gives you the option of stronger components. Good luck and let us know. |

You can force Skyrim and to a much lesser extent NV to recognize multiple cores via a mod and an ini edit or script extender. The "Creation Engine" is getting very long in the tooth. I think I read that Skyrim HD will recognize more cores natively, and its a free update on PC if you have the base game and all DLC.
Ultimately, make sure to manually save often (auto-saves crash NV), know that its OK for the games to crash to desktop while you tweak, and make a back-up of the .ini files. TLDR - Sometimes modding Bethesda games are more fun than playing |
