I was looking to order a new computer around Xmas time and wanted to use a Intel Core i7-3770S Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz processor. Does anyone know if digital storm is offering them already?

Hi rsmilford,

The Ivy Bridge CPUs DS stocks currently are the i3770k and i5 3550k.  The K chips are unlocked so they can be overclocked.

I believe the "s" chip he's refering to is an underclocked chip to be used where cooling is an issue.  I have never seen it anywhere so not sure what happened to it.

I think the "s" chips were marketed almost exclusively to big OEMs like HP & Dell, lower power consumption for their bargin-bin PSUs, etc.

With DS you don't get the "s" chip.
