**Yes, I know it says the validation issue on my SS's. I would never pirate a copy of the professional version so I could run Ultra and Extreme. Ever... because that's wrong. *cough cough**

Been tweaking my friends gaming pc's overclock these past few days. After finally finding what I think will be the most stable, but highest OC he can get for 24/7 use, I wanted to rerun a few benchmarks to see how she fairs.

CPU: 5820k @ 4.4ghz
RAM: 16GB DDR4 (2x8GB) 2400mhz
GPU: 2x GTX 980 Ti Strix
SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250GB (was going to run it on the pro.. but it doesn't really matter for benchmarks.)
Cooling: Air on GPU's, Corsair H100i GTX for CPU
Monitor: ASUS PG278Q 1440p 1ms 144hz G-Sync (ran all of these with G-Sync enabled)

FireStrike Ultra

FireStrike Extreme

FireStrike

Realized I probably should have mentioned the overclocks.

The CPU is overclocked to 4.4ghz running @ 1.325v.

Not to shabby. Run your own benchmarks. Provide some screen shots. Let's see how everyone's PC is running. If your scores are lower, or you have a pc with "lower" parts on it, don't feel discouraged. I really wanna see some more benchmarks and screen shots. So what you got. I might even be willing to give someone some OC help perhaps to get your scores up. *cough cough* My services are good enough for a competition reward, right?

Meller, I see you updated your own rig...any reason why you went with the Strix? Are you still watercooling? Removing the heat sink on the Asus cards voids the warranty on them. EVGA is the only Nvidia card provider that allows for removal of the cooler without voiding the warranty that I know of.

Looks like Meller is back in action.

I'm going to Rhode Island to shoot clays today so I'll add to this over the weekend.   My 2500k at 4.4 and MSI 970 Gamer won't get those results but it is what it is.

My video cards are under water at the moment, as I need to buy all new hard tubing to reconfigure my loops. My system is eh at the moment. As I need to completely rebuild both my loops, possibly buy some new rads... etc.

@DB

The temp is kept around 68F in the apartment. And I can get higher. 1.35 will put me around 4.6ghz on my OC, but the temps just aren't worth it for 24/7 usage.

Let's see it man! I didn't want to start this thread to see who had the highest number. I want to see where everyone is at. Let's see what your system can do. Perhaps we can also use it as a discussion on how to squeeze a few more frames out for people.

If I wanted to see who had the highest number, I wouldn't be doing this kind of OC. I'd be pushing my parts high enough to be stable for enough time to do some benchmarks. I'm sure I could get at least another 1k points in Extreme and Basic if I really pushed.

Let's share and see our numbers!

**Also, back in action?

I had to update all my scores. I also provided a screen shot of my GPU Z to let everyone see. With current settings, I'm seeing the cards boost themselves self as high as 1519mhz.

That 1519MHz boost seems pretty typical for the max OC people are achieving with the 980 Ti cards, no matter if they are air or water cooled (reference coolers will thermally limit the performance forcing the cards to throttle, though). The water cooled cards still achieve better benchmark scores as they do not throttle at all for the duration of the test.

Yea, it hits 1519, but evens out around 1493. Nothing I can do until I drop these under waterblocks.

We will really see how well they can go once I put a custom bios in mine, and throw them under water. I'm not too concerned about warranties once I remove the heatsinks. I'm just loving the ASUS Strix bin's. Kind of worth it.

If I turn all my fans up to 100%, I can maintain a 1375 boost... but it's unstable, as once the temps break like 75, my driver crashes.

To be honest, with how all of the reviews are looking (even those with the AIO coolers and hybrid water/air cooling), I wouldn't expect much more out of the cards for maximum boost frequencies. The GM200 chips seem very resistant to any voltage scaling at all.

The Strix cards have an excellent bin, but so do the Zotac AMP! Extreme, Galax HOF, Gigabyte G1 Gaming, MSI Lightning, and MSI 6G Gaming Golden Edition. EVGA is now suspect with all of their "pre-binning" they are doing and the over-priced K|ngp|n cards they have and what that means for the Classified and FTW cards.

I'll never buy Zotac... it's cheap. Galaxy cards belong in Europe...we don't need that garbage. As far as Gigabyte and MSi. Both respectable... but I'll pass. Not good enough for my brand whoring.

And I've seen some nice Overclocks with a boost at 1.4ghz no problem under water. I'm fairly confident they can do just fine.

Also, let's see some numbers, not posts if you wanna contribute. ;)

how's about an actual in-game screenie of your frequency/voltage/temps? bench marks are all well and good but i'm more interested in real use numbers.  HardOCP claims this: Click%20to%20Close

You two have officially sucked the fun out of my thread. I just want you two to know that.

-_- I picked simple benchmarks for fun. Not for competition. Just for fun. To give everyone a chance to have a uniform standard to compare against. We don't all play the same games. So it would be a standard comparision as different games push the cards at different stress levels.

The stress I get from my cards on The Witcher 3 will give different results of in game performance when compared to something like LoL, WoW, CIV... etc.

I got 9,960 with my Bolt 3.

If I upgrade the gpu from a 970 to a 980 or Titan I would move that up.   I also did not run the benchmark from my SSD - not sure if that makes a difference.
