Good evening all,
My old computer pretty much died recently, so I'm looking for a new one and I wanna order soon. I absolutely cannot make up my mind about what to do, so any advice would be appreciated. I'm gaming on a 25.5 inch monitor at 1920 x 1200 and I'm looking to spend around $2300. Thanks in advance! |

psu :: are you a gamer? if you are, then i would suggest getting the 1000w corsair hx b/c gpu's will require more and more power down the road, especially if you plan to add more than 1 card. motherboard :: the micro, i believe, has full 2.0 x 16x pci-e slots, but it's less expensive than the le edition in a weird way. why? b/c the le edition only has a single 2.0 x 16x pci-e, 2* 8x pci-e, and a 4x pci-e slots. if you go sli in the future, one card would be inserted into the 16x and the other in the 8x, which is .5 speed. this may work, but powerful gpus won't be compatible with the 16/8x method. the micro motherboard will be fine, but if you're an extreme gamer all about graphics, the 3x classified motherboard will be future-proof.
video card :: you can go with the gtx 285 you already chose. just remember that dx11 will be out soon, and ati's 5870/5970 would be a better choice if you want to be all set now.
sound card :: that's a big increase. if you want performance, i would recomend just getting the integrated sound card and with that saving, maybe you can compensate with something else, like the psu, motherboard, or gpu .. something that's really important to the lasting-without-having-to-upgrade components.
optical drive :: if you do a lot of burning, i can see why you have 2 drives. but i think 1 is only needed. you can buy a better external drive. it's your call boss.
everything else seems fine. noctua is a great cooler i've heard !! the haf 932 is a great case you will like !!
