Hey guys!
I bought the vanquish 2 a couple years ago, level 4. The one that has the GTX 770 in it. Anyway, the computer itself still runs great. However, some newer games are not able to be played at playable frame rates on max settings. I have been considering getting a GTX 1070 to help boost my performance. I just have a few questions: 1.) Does it matter what brand the Gtx 1070 is? As in, is ASUS, GIGABYTE, EVGA etc any better than the other? I noticed some differences in prices between them so it got me wondering. 2.) Would there be any problems installing it myself? How hard is it to do, I know some people on here said there is a video on this website with step by step instructions for my computer how to do it. If someone could link it that would be more than helpful. If I think of any other questions I will post below. Thanks in advance for your help! |

Some are stock and some are over clocked.
I like evga myself for customer service and quality. I have the least problems with their product and if there is a problem their customer service is great, I can't says the same about asus or others. look here you may need to use different power connectors depending on what you have now and which 1070 you get. Thanks, seems complicated... Would it be worth spending like 50 dollars and having like best buy or a PC place do it for me? Or is it easy if you just read up/ watch a video?

honestly I'm not sure how you are making it look complicated but its very easy and should take 2 minutes.
if you have problems or questions we are here. Let me ask you this, so we can both understand better, which part of my link did you find complicated? I can walk you through it and show you how simple it is. Also I'm not sure of your system setup, is the cpu oced? what size is your psu? Edited by DST4ME - 18 Sep 2016 at 10:03pm |

Hey guys, I know it's been a while. I finally have the money to buy the card. I wanted to know before I purchase if I am getting the right one, and what are the differences? https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Whisper-Graphics-08G-P4-6171-KR/dp/B01H74VTBK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1469147616&sr=8-2&keywords=08G-P4-6171-KR&th=1
That is the link to the one I am looking at. GTX 1070 ACX 3.0, what are the other options though? Like there is one that says DT, one that says SC, etc. Does it matter or should I just get the one I said? I also see you mentioned about the cables would I be good or would I need to do anything special to hook it up to psu/mobo? I looked at your instructions and they do not seem too complicated so I think I could do it myself, a video couldn't hurt if you might be able to link me to a good one. Thanks! |

That card is fine and a good choice. The others like the FTW and SC are overclocked form the factory.
That card I believe only requires a single 8 pin power connector from the psu and your gtx 770, depending on which one, probably used a 6 pin and 8 pin connector. Just plug the new card in and hook up the right pin count connector. Edited by bprat22 - 27 Oct 2016 at 9:44am |

Check the chart on this pagefrom EVGA. It lists all the variations on the GTX 1070 and what they mean. You can really compare options here.
