Looks like a damn good card. Might consider ripping my 98GX2 out for just one of these cards, or just wait till i have enough for two of them

not at all guys, every week something you have in your system will get outdated by some new expensive benchmark crusher, regaurdless of how much money you spend or how much you know you will never have a system that is the best availible for more than a few months, its just how the industry is!
if your computer does what you need it to, you dont need more!

TomsHardware got a review up today. The 280 is a good card by itself, but is not much better (and in some cases, lost) to a 9800GX2. The 260 was only about 18% worse, and several hundred cheaper, so they recommended the 260 (might be a cheap SLI option).
I think the lack of more advanced RAM, as well as only having 512MB hurt this card a ton. I would actually stick with my 9800GX2 for now, and wait and see what ATI does. This is a good card, but way to overpriced.
EDIT:

Also, it doesnt support DX10.1.. which isnt really necessary yet but dont ATI cards support it? I might just wait for the next round of nvidia cards to come out.

I think HardOCP did a better job than Tom's at pushing this card at the resolutions it was designed for, and in showing it against it's prime competition in the current lineup of NVidia offerings.
link:
Here's another link to The Guru of 3D:
It seems to me that the bottom line with this card is simple:
If you own a 26" or larger monitor, this is the card you've been waiting for. If you own a monitor smaller than 26", it's a waste of money if you already own a 9800x2.
Nomec: NVidia is doing everything it can to kill 10.1, and to shift attention away from it's technological limitations. NVidia's architecture is incapable of performing to the same level in a 10.1 environment, so they are pretending it's not an advance in graphics. With the market share NVidia enjoys, if they will not support DX10.1, it's not going to take off. Combine this with the pressure they put on developers not to support it in order to hurt ATI (Assassin's Creed anyone?), and I doubt if DX10.1 will ever be a factor. The only way I can see DX10.1 making it's way into games is if ATI can somehow earn enough money and take enough market share to start their own version of "The Way it's Meant to be Played" program, and start bribing, *eh-hem*, I mean "supporting" developers so that the games are coded to work better with ATI products.
