Here is a review by TechPowerUp that shows gaming benchmarks for the new GTX Titan X.
In the test setup they used the highest settings available for each game unless specified otherwise. For example for Witcher 3 they turned haiarworks off. Here are 2 examples from the review for gaming at 4k monitor resolution: Crysis 3 GTX 1080 averaged 35.0 FPS GTX Titan X averaged 45.7 FPS Witcher 3 GTX 1080 averaged 43.2 FPS GTX Titan X averaged 57.6 FPS Here is the complete review that has benchmarks for many other games as well at different monitor resolutions. https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/Titan_X_Pascal/5.html |

That is a good site lets see what the rest of the sites say.
But so far from this and other benches I don't see the performance gain. I'm sorry but 25fps is not worth the extra $600 wtf??? Edited by DST4ME - 04 Aug 2016 at 3:31pm |

Nice to see some hard numbers on the titan. I don't think there's a lot of software out there that's optimized for it yet though Good drivers are also key NVidias been dropping the ball on those lastly. Still beter than amd though drivers wise though.

i guarantee if you put those 4k screens up side by side with the different cards powering them while the games played you'd see how big the difference is between them in terms of visual quality/smoothness of game play. that's how you justify the cost of the Titan X (Pascal), not in synthetic bench marks or charts and graphs. besides, the reason you're only seeing that FPS increase is because Nvidia has capped the fan speed at 50%. if you put a custom fan curve on your card and touch no other settings you can completely circumvent thermal throttling and increase your FPS. can you imagine how much more performance there is to this card if, in addition to increasing the fan curve, you also increase the power limit and frequencies? let's wait for some real testing before we put a fork in Titan X, k?

As I mentioned in another thread its about 50% more than the 1080, if the 1080 is doing 40 fps and titan does 60 fps then its 50% more powerful then the 1080, of course that is not the case in most games but in some its close.
side by side they would be different, there is a 20 fps difference, I think you meant side by side with sli 1080. where did you see the info about the cap? and why the cap? give us a link pls its power hungry too: I guess at the end my main issue is the price of this card, I think over the coming weeks we are going to be ok with its performance, but not with the price. everyone's got sticker shock, but clearly Nvidia knows/thinks they can charge this much (do Ferrari or Lamborghini apologize for the pricing of their cars?). i dunno, go cry to AMD for completely and utterly failing to compete at the high end, lol.
Nvidia claims they aren't marketing this card towards gamers, but more towards prosumers on the cheap (compared to Quadro). okay, then why the "Geforce" branding if that's the case? nope, marketing shenanigans aside, this is clearly a "gaming" card that can do compute on the cheap as well. so far from the reviews i've read or watched, not one reviewer was less than stoked about this card's performance. they've all declared it a "beast". when i say fan "cap" i mean that Nvidia stock settings won't allow the card's fan blower to ramp up past 50%, and will instead throttle down the frequency as TDP is reached. you can, of course, use MSI Afterburner or other apps to change the fan curve w/o needing a custom bios. watch Jayz2cents youtube video review on this card. |

Ya well the reviewers love it cause it has all that power but they didn't pay for it, we have to.
I got what you mean by cap, I was wondering where you got the info and why they did that. I mean intel thought/thinks it can charge $1600 for their enthusiast highend cpu but that is not working too well for them comparing with previous highend cpus. |

in the end the market will always tell you the relative value of a thing, but look at the so-called $250 MSRP budget cards in the GTX 1060 and RX480. you can't find one for under $300 right now (i know i just bought an EVGA 1060 for my son).

I agree and disagree with you on that one db. Let me explain, while you are right and the market will decide what something is worth, for me I already have an idea of what I think it should be worth. I guess what I'm trying to say is that while market decides the price for the masses, it does not decide the price for me personally, if that makes sense.
You are correct you can't find 1060 evga for $250 but you know better then me that is because they are not in stock, once evga has them on their website then you will get them at $250. So actually that is a perfect example here of what I was saying earlier, while the market says price is $300+, there is no way I'm paying above $250 for that card unless I had to, otherwise I wait for evga to have it in stock and then I will buy it. And I'm not in any way directing that toward your purchase I'm sure you had a good reason, or simply you are just not like me and don't care that in a short time you can get it for $250, I don't know maybe that is the trader side of me buy low Edited by DST4ME - 04 Aug 2016 at 9:08pm |

Barnacles did a sli titan x vid but it was on a 1440p ultra wide. his firestrike graphics score was a whopping 38K! i've seen GTX 1080x4 do 32K.

the 1060 was a b-day present for my son, so no time to wait for prices to drop down to msrp (if ever). |

the industry experts seem to be expecting a 1080ti, but i'm not so sure. they can't drop the vram size like they did with the 980ti because GTX 1080 is sitting there with 6GB. all they can do is disable a couple more SM units and what impact will that have on uncompromised 4k gaming? i really don't think it will be able to do it very well as a single gpu. so that begs the question what niche will a "Ti" fill? a GTX 1080 can handle ultra wide 1440p just fine on its own. i could be wrong here, but just remember who you heard it from first should there be no "Ti" version launched. that should help sales of Titan X. i've heard a lot of wishful thinking ever since 4k gaming became a thing about a single gpu solution. now it's a reality and all you have to do is have the scratch to pay for it to become your reality

LOL so good for him
Also I think you are right I don't see where a ti version would fit right now. Even before the titan cameout I was wondering if nvidia would do a ti this year seeing how the ti stole the spotlight last year and probably hurt the titan's sales. |

@db188: happy birthday for your son and for the parents. Enjoy your son, time flies.
I am waiting for faster 4K monitors to switch my 980s to the new Titans. Right now I am very happy. I will probably go sli. The aventum cavern would look really empty with just one card. |
