I bought a Hot Swap drive with my computer because I wanted to be able to easily remove the hard drive in my comp and move it to another computer if I so chose to. But I was watching a review of the Haf X and it looks like the Sata Docks already do what I want? What's the difference between a sata dock and a hot swap?

I'm interested in this too.

The way I understand it, with the Haf X, you just slide out one of the quick docks, screw in the drive to the dock, slide it back in and you're good to go.

But since the drive actually assembles to the quick dock, it doesn't seem like you could simply unplug from one and plug into another. Unless it was another Haf X case.

Hi Minka....I never gave either much thought but chasblock pretty much covered it.   In the HafX the drive is screwed to the sled so it contacts the connectors in the back of the dock.   A hot swap just plugs into the station as -is   and is easier to move.     Either will work.    But the Hafx sata requires a little unmounting.     Maybe someone with a HafX will chime in to agree or not.

Yep, that is pretty much it exactly.

So I should keep the hot swap if I want to quickly be able to put my HDD in another computer?
