Is the inclusion of the Raptor and the 285 video (as opposed to 500GB HD and the 265 GPU) worth the $ for occasional gaming? And how important is the 1000W power supply. I want to cut corners where possible without cutting stability.
I could save some money by using the Coolermaster HAF case and standard fans...but how much of a problem is spilling from the top? I use the case for a side table...it does not sit under a desk.
Help!

you lost me on 265 GPU, what is that.

when you say occasional gaming, what resolution are you talking about, how often and how much is the smoothness of the game important to you?

For resolution, let assume 1024x1280. Smoothness is important. However I am new to gaming (don't currently have a gaming system or play) and so am guessing 8 hours a week?? I know this could be wildly off but it seems a good starting point. I will be interested to see how a good game and great system influence this!
