Ok, so about a week ago I finally settled on all the individual peices that I wanted for my rig. Today was the day I was set to order it.

$1895.00
+35 OverClock the RAM
+35 OverClock the Video Card
+0 Processor OverClock included in *Stage 3 Cooling*

$1965.00 Final cost

Then I go to place my order today, and pick all the exact same pieces:
$1929.00
(Granted the 600w Thermaltake was no longer availible as a choice, the change to 520w Corsair on my OLD saved config still only added $17, not $34)

The limit on the card I'm using is $2000... the new settings with ram and video overclock comes to $1999 and I don't even know if 520 is enough for that set up or not! Since it came down from the 600w
CryCry whats going on?

Hmm yeah I was kinda wondering if any changes had been made myself. I noticed that some options weren't there anymore and stuff.

I believe they have dropped some of the pricess on certain things.  They also added stuff in the keyboard and mouse section.  The new options for keyboards is.

1. Razer lycosa -gaming keyboard

2. Razer Tarantula -gaming keyboard

for the new mouse options

1. Razer Deathadder -gaming mouse (highspeed gaming grade)

2.  Razer lachesis - gaming mouse (highspeed gaming grade)

-they also took out the 300GB raptor option, I am pretty sure is because they are going to had a 3rd or maybe even 4th hard drive options.  so instead you will have to do

drive 1: 150gb raptor

drive 2: 150gb raptor

drive 3: whatever HDD

-raid options: raid 0 (will probably do 1st and 2nd drive unless you call otherwise).

-They also added ATI cards from what I seen, I guess its for AMD builds.  I think they added a new speaker set for $190.00 or soemthing like that.

-There displays have changed to using more ACER montors, the 24" is still samsung.

-They added a new sound card, it's a "X-FI XtremeMusic"

-I think their blue-ray players are now cheaper.

-I don't think they carry 1TB HDD's anymore, they probably didn't sell to well since these are gaming PC's they make.  They might have that option in the workstations they sell, but I am not sure.

-They are changing there PSU's to Silver Stone.

-I think there computer cases are cheaper now? They look like they don't cost as much.

-They also have a 8800GTX 768MB (ACS3 overclocked addition).    :)

-The 24" samsung is now cheaper then $600.00.

I don't know how much more they changed, but these are just the things I noticed on here.Tongue
Processor: QX6850 (3.3Ghz)
RAM: 4GB 1066 Dominators
Graphics: 2x 8800GTX 768MB
Sound Card: Fatal1ty
HDD 1: 2x 150GB raptor (RAID 0)
HDD 2: 1x 150GB raptor
HDD 3: 320GB western
Liquid cooling (red)

This is a mystery to me as to why two of the same configs excluding the PSU has different prices LOL

edit: they dropped the prices on the motherboards, and video cards but have increased their processor, ram, hdd prices. maybe that's why

ok so this for $1929.00
+35 OverClock the RAM
+35 OverClock the Video Card
+0 Processor OverClock included in *Stage 3 Cooling*

$1999.00 Final cost

and the credit limit on my card is $2000  ... rofl.

what do you think skyR?
strong build for the cost and a great buy for gaming / video rendering?
anything blatantly overkill and is a waste of money?

Someone more experienced could probably answer that question in more detail, but I remember reading that the Dominator had better heat dissipation and therefore suited for overclocking.  And for some wierd reason, when I ordered my computer, the Dominator cost the same as the XMS, but now the Dominator is more expensive.

Yep, dominators have better heatsinks than XMS2. They are suppose to be more expensive.

What model is the Acer 19" Widescreen?

Also, does anyone know if there is a price reduction coming for the 680i A1 revision (most likely with the release of 780i?) The 100$ price jump between from the LT to it and additional 20$ markup is pretty steep since you can't push above 800MHZ DDR2 RAM without it...
