Before it was the A70 and they discontinued that, now based on the model number alone, the A70 > A 50?
So should i be worried if i'm OC-ing to level 1 with the ODE 1 and adding a SSD in it? |

SSD's use, maybe, 4-6Watts of power under load. HDD's use just a touch more. Adding a drive, unless you add 10 of them, will have no impact on the computer's psu.

Hi darbebo,
The A50 has one less pipe and only one fan. It looks to me that you could add the second fan but I have never had one in hand. The A70 cooled a few degrees below the D14 and the A50 cools a few degrees below the A70. With a stage 1 OC you should be OK. I doubt that DS would use the A50 if it was going to cause problems. If I had a A50 I would add the second fan. You will need a Y cable to add that second fan. Frank Edited by FrankW - 30 Mar 2012 at 6:13am |

The A50 is more than enough for the ODE Level 1 configuration.

Hi Alex and co.
if i may ask one more thing, i went to another competitor's site to just snoop around and i couldn't help but notice that if i were to choose a "level 1 overclock" and the GTX 570 with then, a warning mesg pops up saying that i'll need a 775w PSU. with that in mind, i was just wondering, if the 600w on the ODE will be able to cover the GTX 570 + the level 1 overclock that it is, esp if I am going to add an SSD intel 520 on it later on. you'll probably say "everyhting's fine" but i'd like to at least hear it from you first :) thx |

"everything's fine"
No really, my rig with the older X58 Extreme Chip (Overclocked), 2 Overclocked 580s, 2 SSDs, 1 HDD, and all the bells and whistles normally only pulls around 333w (Thats actually including the 24" monitor). It peaks between 600-700, and that's heavy, heavy usage. Edited by Tidgxor - 30 Mar 2012 at 11:12pm |

Yep...What Tidgxor said
There is no way DS would use a psu that couldn't handle it. It's their cost and reputation and they do test it. They have sold countless miilions of these things. We would've heard. Well, maybe not millions. Adding a SSD is a non-event, psu wise.

The ODE Level 1 pulls less than 75% rated capacity on the Corsair 600W unit while under a CPU and GPU stress-test. |
