It can go to 3.2ghz on air. I believe Digital Storm puts it at 2.8ghz - 3.0ghz.

Talked to Alex about a day ago when i placed my order and he said it can OC to around 2.8 ghz. I am surprised that they can't OC more than that. Most website i read agree with you that it can be OC to 3.0 ghz on air and still run stable. Have to fun until my system get here to see how much they OC it on a Stage 3 with 2 GB of 1066 mhz Corsair RAM ? In theory it could OC very well since the RAM and Quad core have the same FSB but we'll see.

Q6600 has a 266MHz FSB (quad-pumped) and the ram has a 533MHz FSB (duo-pumped). You can overclock to 3.2GHz fine with 800MHz ram. The 1066MHz is actually overkill if you don't plan on upgrading in the future.

Good Point Smile I was planning to upgrade the CPU sometimes in the future, i hope Wink. SkyR, do you know if DS is going to OV the Q6600 to max or are they going to stop it at around 2.8 ghz ???? I was hoping they can get my system up to 3 ghz ---stable and i am a happy customer.

First off, please direct all DS questions to employees of DS.  It keeps everything simple.

As far as how high to overclock, regardless of what ANYONE else says, we will oc a processor as high as we can to make it stable, but not all chips are the same and there is NO GUARANTEE on how high or low a processor can be clocked.
Now, a quad core processor cannot oc as good as a core2duo but I have seen a q6600 oc to 3.0 and higher, but I would NEVER ship it out to a customer that high with air cooling.  Once you get your system and you want to push it higher, by all means go ahead.  Our goal here is stability.
