What's the rig going to be used for and what screen resolution will you be using ?

If its a gaming rig for demanding games on a 1920x1080 monitor, the most popular, then your budget allows you to do much better.

The gtx 1050 is a baseline, entry level graphics card.  I would recommend at least the gtx 1070 for 1080p screen and the gtx 1080 at least for a 144hz screen at 1080p or 1440p.

I would also change your primary drive from the DS m.2 to the Samsung 960 Pro.  A known drive with much longer warranty.

I would also go with the Corsair H110i for the same reasons as the drive, a known good unit with 5 year warranty.  Even without the added overclocking it is better.   You could also just get the Air, Stage 1 air cooler.  No worries about a pump, leak, etc.

Select the internal lighting, remote unit.  It's free.

Hope this helps. Big%20Smile

Let's start, as bprat suggested, with the resolution of the monitor you'll be using.

bprat put you on the right road. I'd recommend the MSI Pro Carbon mobo just because of their superior customer service should you ever need it.

The 1080 Ti is overkill for your new monitor. the 1080 will have you luxuriating at ultra settings and 144 Hz all day. The overclock is not a good idea, these cards are hot enough already, and you'll never see any difference.

The OC isn't necessary on the CPU either, the 8700K turbos to 4.7 on the primary gaming core already, which is plenty for gaming.

The savings I suggest gives you room for the Samsung 960 Pro bprat recommends. It's really the top M.2 right now with a 5 year warranty. The DS branded one is okay, but the warranty will be a year from DS, and it's not a Samsung.

Choices up to you, but this'll save you about $135. The OCs are tempting at FREE, but they won't do enough for you to make a difference.
