I ordered my rig, a Velox, on Aug 25th, and I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. I know it's gonna be worth the wait.

That's an excellent build and welcome to the forums.
If you don't mind some friendly suggestions....If this is a gaming rig primarily, I would've gone with sli, 2x 980ti and changed to 16gb ram and changed the cpu to the 5820k to pay for the card change. The 980Ti is almost the same as the Titan X in gaming for a lot less and 4K screens need a lot of horsepower to run at higher settings. The 5820k cpu is about the same as the 5930k if a one or two video card setup is all you plan on. The number of Pcie lanes is the major difference. If you don't want to mess with sli, then you are good to go. Either way, its great gaming. DS does allow changes unless its too far along and then there's a charge. Good luck. I'm not sure if it would be too late to change that or not, it's in Phase 3, and has been for 8 days. I don't know the most about every component, but thanks so much for the advice.

You're welcome, man. I am switching back to PC after having been on a Mac for about 7 years, so it will be an adjustment, but as a gamer, I couldn't stand missing out on tons of games that I would have liked to have given a try. Hopefully with this new rig, there won't be too many things I won't be able to play for quite a time to come. Edited by Blackorpheus - 10 Sep 2015 at 2:51pm |

I switched back to PC after my 2012 iMac never started up again after an update. Have been a Mac user since 2000 except when I am at work as we use the PC. This time, based on my research and gut feeling, I chose to purchase a pure gaming PC with no bloatware with a 4K ultra HD monitor, and gaming accessories. Got my rig last month. And, so glad I did. And with Digital Storm! Currently have Second Life, Witcher 3 and MGS V on mine. I so love it! |

Yeah, I'm a huge RPG nerd and I'm pretty sure that this rig will kick WoW's butt on pretty high settings. Going to be looking into other games I can play now that I'll be running a PC and can actually play other games.

I'm thinking of trying FFXIV: A Realm Reborn. I've heard lots of good things. My computer has been stuck on Phase 3 for 10 days now, and I'm trying not to be impatient!

It's kind of nice knowing that others are suffering just as much as I am! Just kidding. Congrats, and hope you don't have to wait too long.

I've been in Phase 6 for a week now. I am trying not to lose my patience! I know that it will be well worth the wait in the long run. I need a distraction this week. I'm not sure what I should do.

It's possible they may have hit some snags during the QA phase. They might be fine tuning the computer and such. However, if it drags out to two weeks, I'd start poking them in emails. |

I live in South Georgia and don't have a friend as gullible as Butters, unfortunately. I know what the chance of overshooting is, anyway. Something tells me I otter not do that.

Thank you to everyone that's been suffering with me. I absolutely feel everyone's pain and can commiserate with all who've had to sit by patiently waiting for their own computer christmas to arrive!

My package has been delayed indefinitely. I haven't cried in 15 years. I'm VERY close to breaking that streak. I absolutely have no idea what I'm going to do to distract myself. This order has been in the works since the 25th of August and I'm trying to find patience somewhere.

I'm confused. If it shipped why is it delayed? and why indefinitely?

Something can't be delayed after shipped? Shipped doesn't mean delivered, it's delayed somewhere in transit. This is the first update I've gotten in a week, so I have absolutely no idea where in the country it is.

ummm I understand it can be delayed after it shipped. I know what shipped means, I am not an idiot. It just seemed odd they can't tell you for how long or what the deal is. I am sorry to hear that man.

*from freight company experience*
If you get a "delayed" notice it usually means one of two things. 1) the package missed a hub turn point and will be back on track within 24 hours, or 2) mislabeled, missent to the wrong hub, or just put on the wrong truck means a delay of a day or two. That you have the notice of "delayed" usually means they found it and are paying special attention to it. Those are the optimistic "delayed" notices. We're pulling for you! |
