It happens when I am playing the new Battlefield 4, any concerns for it hitting over 90c?
When idle it's mid 45c and my room temp is a good 68F. My specs are: Dreadnought: Sabertooth, i7 3770k O/C to 4.4Ghz, Dominator DHX 16gb, H100i, HX1050, V12XT, Asus BR, 840 256gb, 2x GTX 670 4gb. I haven't changed a thing since I bought it from DS. Edited by armoredsaint - 11 Nov 2013 at 5:11pm |

That's 90c temp is a bit toasty. I would make sure both fans mounted to the h100i cooler are spinning. Blow air through the radiator to clean it of any dust buildup . What speed are the fans on? If you're using Corsair Link software, and it's on Quiet mode ,then put fans on Performance mode which kicks them to a higher rpm. If you don't use Link then they might default to the higher rpm.
See if that helps. |

thanks for the quick reply as usual, i'm using link with my h100i and it's on quiet mode ~ 1100 rpm on idle, pump is 2209, H100i temp is 35C. adjusting the fans to balanced or performance is annoyingly loud.
i was a bit concerned in the fan direction, currently it's set by DS to pull air into the box, iirc Corsair had the configuration to be pushing air out? Should I consider down clocking from 4.4 to 4? If so, how do I do it? ETA: I experimented with turning the fans to Balance which made it to 1900 rpm, the temps on my CPU actually went up to 47c Edited by armoredsaint - 11 Nov 2013 at 5:58pm |

I hear you. I personally would like the fans blowing up and out but sometimes when DS does testing they find that fresh cool air from the outside directly into the rad works better . Tough to say. Your case can definitely handle the way it is. I would adjust to Balanced or Performance and see what happens. It will get noisier but that might be the tradeoff.
If the fans are good, and no dust and on Performance doesn't help then it's possible the pump is marginal. Then a call to DS is needed. Good luck. Saw your edit.... I would leave overclock alone for now. Try Performance and don't look at idle temps which 45c probably is but only load temps. Try for 70s or low 80s for load temp. You're idling that hot, and running that hot, normally that would imply something is wrong with how your cooler is seated on your CPU. I'd say pull the cooler off, clean off the paste, reapply, and reseat.
If you're still getting those temps, either something is very wrong with the cpu or with the cooler. But the cooler is quite simple to determine if it's the problem. Does it make a weird whine (in the pump not the fans)? Is your radiator clean of dust? Is you room already hot, as ambient temps will have a very strong effect on your cpu temp. |
