Specs :
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
Edition SP1 (64-Bit)
Motherboard: EVGA X58 SLI Chipset - Core i7,
Triple Channel Memory
Processor: Intel Core i7 965 Extreme (3.2GHz) Quad Core, 6.4GT/s QPI (o/c to 3.8)
CPU Cooling: Jetline Extreme CPU Liquid Cooling
System Memory: 12GB Corsair XMS3 Triple Channel
DDR3 (1600MHz)
Graphics Processor: 2GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 285,
System Power: 1250 Watt Cooler Master Multi-GPU Power Supply
Sound Card: 7.1 High Definition Integrated Audio
Primary Hard Drive: 300GB VelociRaptor 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache
Secondary Hard Drive: 500GB 7200RPM SATA 16MB Cache
However I'm getting horrible FPS in FSX.
Notibly 5 FPS while at KIAD!!! (ImagineSim enabled, UT2 enabled, all sliders to the max).
How is this possible?? I spent so much money on this system and now I'm looking at the possibility of going back to FS9!  Wink
Many years after the release of FSX and this is the best system I could find, and it's horrible! How come others are getting great FPS and I'm getting horrible FPS?? Did I miss something? Can someone please help me??

First, why are you only on SP1?  You need to download SP2 for your OS.  There is a guy called Harleyman that hangs around here that is a huge FSX freak.  He's helped many that get into that SIM and get there systems tweaked to run it properly.  I do know that he has some specific tweaks that he recommends for the SIM so hopefully he'll get in here soon and show you what you need to do.  The system you have is not the problem... trust me.  Your settings for that SIM will most likely be your issue.

Just joined the forum.  Saw you post about FSX and SLI / CrossfireX.  I am researching a gaming computer and am looking at the configure below - about $2,600!!!.  It will be used mostly for FSX and everyday computing.  Am I overshooting and what would be the best video cards (I would to set up three displays down the road)....
Would appreciate any guidance on my efforts.  Many Thanks

fsx will not use that sli so for fsx its pointless, unless you are playing games that will use it, you don't need it.

As rice said, post your topic in the config section and let us know if its just for fsx or not, and we will take it from there.
