Played around with the cpu OC on a 5820k again. I realized I said in the post the other day I finalized it... but let's be honest. Are we ever truly finalized on our overclocks. Either way, I milked around another 100mhz after playing around a little with my base clock and my multiplier (***DISCLAIMER - Please don't ever touch the base clock unless you know what you're doing. Last thing I wanna see if someone say they modified theirs base the default 100 because they wanted to get their OC up. You will destroy your CPU if you don't know what you're doing.)
So I thought, it'd be fun to share our CPU tests. I would love for all of you to run these tests, and share so we can compared for fun how we are all doing. I'm excited to see someone with a 3770k beat someone with a 4770k thanks to the silicon lottery and their great OC!. All the tests I chose to run for my scores are free. (*check below for settings, if required for any test) Intel Burn Test*: Cinebench R15: *For Intel Burn Test, I typically run 10 runs @ maximum for stability testing, unless it's a new CPU, then I'll run 15-20x until I learn the CPU. When you run it, set it to 5 - 10 (your choice) with the stress level @ maximum. Share your screen shot! **For Cinebench R15, OpenGL is pointless. If you run it, share it with your multicore and single core tests run. Let's see those screen shots. |

Intel Burn Test is a great tool to do quick stability testing, however, please note, we do not encourage customers to run it for extended periods such as 24+ hours as it can put unnecessary stress on the CPU.

IBT > Prime95. Running it at 10x on maximum stress level for an overclock should be completely acceptable. Now if 10x @ maximum takes over 24 hours, just drop it to 5x.

i've seen an oc pass IBT and then fail Prime and vice versa. i personally don't like how (unnecessary) high the heat gets on IBT. running a Prime blend test is as close to everyday usage as it gets and should be enough for stability. run both if you want to be sure, or if you're into SM.
