Intel i7 3770k vs intel i7 2700?

   Some one on the forum mentioned that I should upgrade my processor. I was going to go with the 2700 but the 3770 is just a little more. After researching a bit I found the 3770 has the new ivry bridge tech in it which I heard was better for gaming sense it has 3 path transitor instead of one. What I'm worried about is that this is the third generation chip and brand-new stuff always seems to break. Does anyone know how well this chip works and if it's worth the extra money?
