So I want to get a 27" 1440p G-Sync Monitor but have a hard time justifying the cost of an IPS panel. If it is strictly for gaming is there a large difference. I currently have a 25" 1440p IPS Samsung monitor that I originally bought that will be used along side it for monitoring temps, youtube, etc...

If you have a good IPS then the tn should not look as good.
IPS has better image quality and you don't have to center yourself in-front of it like a tn panel, but if your budget is really tight and can't do ips and you don't mind centering yourself in front of the tn panel then you should be ok. Check out tftcental and get some info and see what you like I can tell you the glow and etc is not something I have found but I always buy the top of the line ips panels. Thanks DST4ME, I will check it out. Yeah the majority (pretty much all) of my budget went into the rig this past spring. I may wait until back Friday rolls around this year and see if there are any good sales also. It seems GSYNC monitors are more expensive than freesync too lol.

My pleasure
I would totally wait for cyber monday or xmas sales, no reason to rush into a monitor when cyber monday or black friday you will get great deals. Right now narrow down what you want and then purchase it on one of those days, or when it goes on sale. Edited by DST4ME - 16 Aug 2016 at 6:49am |

The Display is an essential thing. Both are having some interesting and exciting features and sometimes a user becomes confused to choose the best from them. It depends upon you. Which features you need for monitor. If you need faster response and refresh rates then TN display is good. Otherwise,IPS display is better choice for image quality. |
