Ok pals, I've been putting money aside for a good gaming laptop. It's not the time to buy one yet but soon! I'm willing to go all out (preferably below 4K) and I wanted to ask you guys, Which laptop should I get? I want someone to lay out the facts! Which laptop could play AAA titles in amazing frame Rates? All in all, could someone help me make a choice?

Depends what size you want. 15" if you'll be carrying it around a lot or 17" if it'll be stationary. The 17" gives you more real estate to play on.
Will you be using just it's built in 1080p screen or hooking it to an external monitor? The Banshee allows for sli, dual card, if using a higher resolution monitor. The other choices are storage. Don't know your needs. SSD for primary drive and the size of secondary depends what you keep. Laptops are a bit easier to pick than desktops. Basically, figure your budget, the size of the unit and what monitor resolution you want to render. I didn't pick one, but hopefully narrowed down your choices. Good luck. |

bprat covering things as usual
All I can really add is that the size choice is probably one of the "bigger" (sorry for the pun) ones you have to make in regards to laptops. Once you've made that decision then the rest of bprat's suggestions follow logically. Personally I've only owned one gaming laptop, about 11 years ago and if you're not going to have an external monitor I'd strongly suggest the 17" screen, but if you're using a monitor, then the reduced mass of the 15" has all sorts of appeal. |

Thanks guys, As it will be stationary most of the time that 17" suggestion is logical. What I'm thinking right now is I'll probably be getting the Banshee as it seems to fit all of what I want it to. Also it of course has the screen size. I think this will turn out well guys!

Banshee would be my choice for having the desktop-class 980 GPU. Be careful as the SLI on the Banshee is for two 980Ms, not the desktop 980. Because of that I'd actually go with the single GPU since a lot of games don't utilize SLI very well. Up to you, however, which one is preferable.

Ooh I didn't even think about that Roykirk so I suppose we continue this with that. Should I not get the dual sli? Would I be fine without it?

As I mentioned above, it's really going to depend on the games you play and how many of them take advantage of SLI. Dual 980Ms in SLI may be slightly better than the single desktop-class 980 on some games (you don't get double the performance with SLI), but all your games will run well with the single desktop-class 980, especially with the 1080p screen on the laptop.
You will also be able to drive a larger monitor with your laptop (I run an Ultrawide 2560x1080), but will see some degradation in performance from either choice when you go to a higher res. I'm also not sure what heat differences might be between the two possibilities. Someone with a Banshee may be able to shed light on that. For me, and the games I play, I'd go for the single desktop-class 980 all the way, but that's me. YMMV. It would be good to know what games you play and are hoping to play so that we can offer better advice. |

Howdy. Last year bought the Behemoth(which they don't make anymore). And I have the dual 980s(SLI). It's fabulous!!!! I have a review on the customer reviews thread. It's all good.
