I've been considering a 15.6" Avon laptop for a while, but don't understand why Digital Storm doesn't allow you to configure them with M.2 storage drives. Other manufacturers using the same chassis have offered them for quite some time, but I would really like to get another DS computer rather than trying someone else.

Is there any reason DS doesn't use M.2 storage?

Glad you asked, the team noticed a bug and we have fixed it. You should now see two NVMe based drives by SAMSUNG on the storage options for our laptops. The Samsung 950 PRO series M.2 NVMe drive we offer is one of the fastest on the market.

That's good news.  I was lucky to get an mSATA option with my Krypton before it disappeared after a few weeks, and I never understood why it was removed.  Glad to here that M.2 options are available now.

One more question on the same subject... the M.2 drives added to the configurator can only be selected instead of a physical drive. Since the M.2 drives don't take up a drive bay, it should be possible to configure a unit with a M.2 boot drive, an SSD application drive, and a physical hard drive for backup and storage, correct? The current configurator doesn't allow this setup, however.
